Default How dangerous are LiFe Batteries?

I started using LiFe batteries and I'm very pleased with the higher voltage but...

1. How dangerous are they really? Has anyone had a LiPo-fire-like experience with a LiFe?

2. Can you fly with them? The TSA says, no more then 25grams of Lithium, in any battery can be flown.

100Wh =appx 8g (according to the safetravel page)

So, a battery that's a LiFE 6.6v @1100Mah = 7.26Wh Well within limits.

3. The safe handling instructions say to never let the battery reach 120F... that's a hot car on a hot day.

Default RE: How dangerous are LiFe Batteries?

LIFE ........Is not enough information on the cell type

I use LIFEPO4 made by Black & Decker. They are simply very safe if abused. I have ly overcharged them to being runied. No heat or flames. They simply vent the chemicals out of a built in pressure relief valve. Cell is forever . NO current can be pumped into them again.
