New to electrics - need some help

Greetings!

I have been flying planes off and on for about 30 years, but they have all been glow powered. As a huge Reno Air Race fan, I recently purchased Rochobbies Strega and Voodoo to fly with my boy. But I don't understand the receiver setup. It appears the receiver does not need its own power, but I don't understand how it hooks up. The ESC does not have a plug for the smaller one coming from the battery pack, but does have a plug for the receiver marked throttle. Do I need some strange accessory? Can I use my older 72mhz radio gear or need to upgrade to 2.4?

Hope I posted this in the correct forum,

Thanks!

Opps, think I have it figured out. Just don't know how to delete this post. Sorry!

The ESC has a built-in regulator or BEC(battery eliminator circuit) that provides power to the receiver via the throttle plug. Plug the ESC receiver plug into the throttle port of the receiver.
