Thunder Power batteries
Who has the best prices on Thunder Power batteries? Specifically the 1320 mah 3s packs.
Thanks, Jim |
RE: Thunder Power batteries
I think you'll find most all places to carry about he same price on these. My favorite Thunder Power dealers are TP packs.com and Espritmodel.com
Edited to add this find: http://www.wingwarrior.com/zen/ Wiz |

www.draganfly.com
Best prices, free shipping, and great communications. Got my stuff in 3 days, exactly what I ordered. |
RE: Thunder Power batteries
After much reading I've decided to upgrade my batteries to Lipo. In reading this and other forums it appears Thunder Power lipos are among the best to buy. In searching I also found www.Draganfly.com to have the lowest price I could find for the newest TP batteries. Is there any better source for these?
Hey falconhob, are you still impressed with thier service/products? |
RE: Thunder Power batteries
I'm in the same boat as Bash on this one. I am also switching to lipos. After looking around for the best deal, I have decided to order the ThunderPower ProLite 2100mah (3s) from Dragonfly ... one question tho ... do I need to buy some sort of charge guard along with them?

RE: Thunder Power batteries
I bought my first TP from DraganFly. Great price and free shipping. But I found the link to Bishop Power Products somewhere around these threads, and decided to order from them... http://www.b-p-p.com/products.php?cat=15 They advertise they will beat any other web price by 5%. So I told them about DraganFly's price. They beat theirs by 5% AND then included the free shipping also! Ships out today. Should have it later this week. [8D]

RE: Thunder Power batteries
Does draganfly ship from Canada? Their contact info is a Candian office. I decided not to order from them in fear of shipment delays when passing through US Customs.

RE: Thunder Power batteries
Safzero - I ordered my TP2100mAh ProLites from Draganfly last Tuesday, and had them by Thursday. No problems with the Canadian/USA shipping @ all. Cleared customs with no problems (that I could see). I'm really please with Draganfly's customer service & shipping.

RE: Thunder Power batteries
Same here. Shipping was very fast. Took 2-3 days for mine I believe. I ordered my second TP pack from Bishop simply because I got a better deal from them. They advertise they will beat anyone elses advertised price by 5%, and they also threw in the free shipping like Dragan does. It came in about 2 days as well. Both are very good companies to deal with and I would recommend either one.

RE: Thunder Power batteries
Not knocking Thunder Power as they seem to be the best trusted name on the market. However, for those like me who are worried about price, I opted for the best price I could find on Lipos anywhere. Dymond Motorsports sells lipos at roughly half the price of other brand names. I picked up 3 cell 10c 2000ma packs at $35 a piece. Now, I've read a few horror stories on Dymond lipos but haven't had any trouble with mine. Use them to power a Stryker with the BP21 brushless motor. Even had one pack that was already near dead spend two days in a tree. It's voltage was below 3.5 volts but it wasn't bloated so I decided to try to charge it using extreme caution. Since the voltage was below the allowed voltage for my Celectra lipo charger, I charged it a few minutes on a nihm charger at 1 amp. Once the voltage was high enough for the lipo charger to accept I gave it a regular charge. Pack is fine now with no bloating or loss in capacity. Generaly happy with the quality of the wrap and wires as well and the dead charge tells me they can take some abuse. WARNING: Doing what I did above could very easily result in a fire or explosion. I charged mine in my driveway away from anything and wore goggles when going near them. If I had the extra money to blow and wanted a good solid brand name I'd buy the Thunder Powers. However, in real life sometimes you have to go on the cheap.

RE: Thunder Power batteries
twinturbostang, Are the batteries that you got from Bishop the same as the ones from Dragon?
Looks like the ones from Dragon are higher discharge. |
RE: Thunder Power batteries
They were identical. 2000 Pro-Lite 11.1 packs. These are the black shrink covered, flat and somewhat squarish packs. There are some newer ones that are longer/narrower and are 2100 packs. Maybe that's what you are thinking of.
Here's a pic of one on DraganFly's website: http://parts.rctoys.com/rc-toys-hobbies/Items/423211? |
RE: Thunder Power batteries
I was thinking of the 730 packs. They look different.
