Wrong setting- not enought power
 

Hi

So i still try to figure out what is the main problem. My plane a piper like, has wingspan of : 59 and rope of 10.5.
The weight is 5.5 lbs.

I'm using a 11x9 propeller, with a ESC: Phoenix CC 80. And with an AXI 4130/20.
So i have 2 lipo pack now , 2x 3s4p rate at 6000mha 12 max. That i plug in parallel.

So the motor turn and it's was way underpower to flew. At full speed it can't roll on the floor.

So : Is my setting in the esc are wrong ? , Do i need to put the pack in series ?, or i mostly need 1 lipo : TP 6000 3s3p ?

If I read you right you are trying to run this motor on 3S LiPo?
If so you will never get airborne...
I will say you at least need 5S to make the motor work! If you put your batteries in serie, put on a 14x10 prop then things will happend. Still the amperage will be below 30Amp. Propably a 8S setup close to 40 Amp will be the most efficient for the motor...

Say, any word on how the plane is flying now?

The main problem is that the battery configuration is wrong. Using glow engine terms, you hook batteries in series to increase "cubic inches" and hook in parallel to increase the size of the "fuel tank."

Two 3S4P packs connected in parallel give you a really small engine with a huge fuel tank. You want them in SERIES, to make a 6S4P configuration. With the right prop, that setup can easily fly most .60-size sport planes on the market.

I'm wondering, how was this power system conceived? It's serious overkill for a .25-size Piper Cub. There's at least a pound of weight and a couple hundred dollars that doesn't need to be there.

That plane would fly extremely well, for 15+ minutes, on an AXi 2820/10, using an 11x7 prop and a Phoenix 45 ESC, with only one of those packs.

Yes i know that the engine was too much for the plane, but i have it... and i try to use it instead to buy another engine.

I will try this week-end maybe to make it take off. But for sure, now, the 2 pack in series are far better now. But i don't think i will be able to take off..
it's the 4130-20, with the -16 there were not problem. Of course a 2820 can be the best choice. But again, i don't really whant to buy it now. But i will try and post my result.
