Parallel Connection

To connect two lipos in parallel, do they have to be the same capacity? I want to know if I can hook a tanic 3 cell 2150 mah pack and a thunder power 3 cell 2100 mah pack in parallel. I think the tanic is rated 12C and the TP is 15C.

No, they just have to be the same voltage at the time of hooking them.

I think you are bound for trouble - though the initial voltage may be the same the cells are different in terms of internal resistance and one pack will drop more voltage under load (so they will be mismatched), and one will drain before the other.

Sorry, but the electrochemistry will not permit this. The packs will discharge evenly in proportion to their stored capacity.

See www.rcbatteryclinic.com - article on parallel operation for detail explanation.
