Connecting FMA HD 6s to power supply
 

I'm new to electrics and am looking for a good way to connect the FMA HD 6s charger to a Cascade Audio (equivalent to an Iota?) 30A power supply. The HD 6s comes with clamps that I would use to attach it to 12V battery posts, but the power supply has screw-down binding posts. I would rather not cut off the clamps on the charger because I will need them when charging at the field (from a 12V batery -- not yet purchased). Any help, pictures, diags would be much appreciated.

I use Deans Ultra for adapter connectors. Outlet on the power supply has female Deans for the different chargers. Male deans on the chargers and adapters with aligator clips, and cigarette outlet.

Thanks, Gord, for the quick reply. I almost get it ... the Deans connectors make sense and are a simple, clean answer. What I don't get is what you do with the charger clamps/alligator clips. Do you cut them off and attach them to the battery with another female Deans on the cut wire end? If not, does that sound like a good idea? What is the cigarette lighter outlet for?

Sorry, I didn't explain very well Terry. Male goes on the input side of your charger. The other adapters aligator clips, power supply, cig lighter, have the females on them so you can plug in whatever power source you have, to the charger. Out at the field I use a jumpstarter with a 20 AH batt. in it. It has two cig. lighter outlets on it for the chargers and a built in inverter for the hot glue gun, soldering iron, etc. Handy gadget that.:D

Is that a Canadian Tire inverter?

Hot glue is made for the little foamies.I use it even for assy. Other guys use it more than me.:D:D. The inverter is built into the jump starter. Bought it at a local hardware. CTC does sell them with the built in inverter. If your interested in one, get one with at least 17 AH batt. in it. Ths had a 17 AH in it. Used it for about 3 yrs, then put a 20AH in it of the same physical size.
