Default Charging TX batteries

I am trying to charge the batteries in my TX by connecting my charger to the charging jack on the side of the TX but my charger is telling me that there is no battery connected.
I removed the back of the TX and connected the charger to the battery leads where it plugs into the circuit board and this works but I would prefer not to have to take the radio apart to charge the batteries.
Why can't I charge the batteries by connecting my charger to the TX?
Thanks, Kevin.

Default RE: Charging TX batteries

Just a thought...My JR radio for my Cars has a reversed polarity....ie the outside is positive and the inside is negative...is it the same way on that radio?

Default RE: Charging TX batteries

I am reasonably sure the the polarities are correct. As well I am using the eflite charging jack that was made for charging the TX batteries.
