Default Charge Time

Hey guys. Long time lurker and Yesterday I finally got a CX2 v2. I tried to dial it in a couple of times but still getting all sorts of movement from yaw to forward/backward, to side to side. So Im still learning. The simulator wasnt this hard. Anyway, Im curious to the charge times for the stock lipo battery. It seems that it takes an hr or more to charge it. I dont let it discharge completely. So I dont know what the deal is. This is my first Lipo pack so maybe Im just not used to it. Is this normal?

Thanks

Welcome to the addiction My charge times on stock lipo's will run anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. Usually the later. As a new CX2 pilot I can also say that from the sim to real life is quite a bit different! It took me a good week to get mine to be stable with my mitts on the sticks. However I have found that setup is the key to a super stable heli. Soloboss has a great setup guide found here http://cx2.r-2.nl/ lots of tips and tricks to really get your heli super stable. I can get mine fine tuned enough that I can power her up and she will hover in place without touching the transmitter. If I can help with anything don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks for the info. I have already looked at his site. Hopefully will have it tuned by the end of the week but I dont know. Heli's are complete new to me but I find it so fasinating. Anyway, thanks for telling me I'm not crazy. Are all Lipos like this or can I go buy another pack that will fit in the chopper without mods right now and be able to charge faster?

Are you flying inside? if so that could be the cause of movement. I tried to trim as per solobosses instructions and what I found out it is a lot better to do outside in absolute no wind or a BIG room. I am lucky enough to fly in the high school gym. When I fly inside my home the cx is all over the place. my living room is 12x16 and I try to maneuver into the kitchen onto the table. and objects really change the wash from the blades

Yes this in in my small office. I have it on a card table. I give it just enough power to take the weight off and it will swing to the left. I think I have it figured out. I had to turn the screw ALOT to get it to stop. It was my 3rd or 4th try on this batter so I need to finish it up and recharge and make sure the setting is good. I still get forward and side movement and trim doesnt seem to help. Is this part of the washplate being seperated like what is mentioned in the article? Its coming. I find it so fun just to get this thing set right. Yeah its frusterating but still fun and very cool how it just lifts.

You will know when the swash is separated. I am not sure but I don't think you can quick charge lipos. The little heli creates a lot of down wash wind. that breeze will swirl off of objects and push the heli all over. You can get out of this "wash" buy flying closer to the ceiling then the floor. But that is not done by me I fly about 3 to 4 feet above the floor. Whe It gets close to an object like the TV or chair it seems to push in towards it. doorways or a trip.

My side to side was cured by just leveling the swash plate. I guess the easiest way I know how to explain it is to try and trim it with the little sliders (trim tabs) on the tx (transmitter). If you can't dial it in with the tx then your going to have to mechanically tune it. If you follow your guide it will walk you through setting the 4in1, or 3in1 I think on the v2 of the cx2 to correct yaw or setting your rudder. Now if you can't correct your forward/back or side to side with the tx you will have to adjust the servo linkage arm length. Soloboss covers this in the guide. Last but certainly not least is the flybar. If it's out at all you can get a variety of things happening. Usually for me when the flybar is a mess it will roll around in a small circle like it's going down the toilet...thus TBE or toilet boil effect. You can get these little guys dialed right in. Then you will have nights like the one I'm having when you just can't fly it at all! Two flights....3 broken blades! It happens
