Default Anyone running Blade 400 with Align 430x motor

I need help finding the right pinion for the align motor to work with the blade 400. It has a 3.14mm shaft on the motor and according to my calculations it needs a 9 tooth pinion to spin the blades at 2200 rpm.
I can't seem to find that pinion anywhere.

Did you factor in inefficiencies of the motor and friction? You probably get around 85% max efficiency. Then with old batteries the headspeed will also be slower. You could also lower the throttle curve to get the headspeed you need with a 10T or 11T pinion.

I have a 15 tooth pinion on it now and it is way to high of a head speed. The main gear on the blade is 145 tooth I believe the motor is a 3550kv outrunner and I am running a new 3 cell lipo.

I'm running the 430XL motor in my blade. i used a 11 tooth pinion. I did this because there is not enought metal in the smaller count pinion due to the larger 3mm shaft. I think that your target of 2200 rmp is way to low. You need 2800 to 3000 and the heki will be more stable.

i think you are going to have about 4000 rpm or more with that pinion.
which i seriously doubt the head or blades can handle that speed
thats actually pretty dangerous,i would keep my head low when flying that heli, parts may just become projectile`s.
if i remember correctly the stock head is rate up 3200 rpm max.
the stock motor is 3800 kv with a 10 tooth pinion.
with a 3550kv motor i would say a 12 tooth pinion would be optimal gear to rpm match. this will keep the motor at 80% throttle effecience. which means not taxing the esc or head parts

I'm running the 430XL motor in my blade. i used a 11 tooth pinion.
Does the 430XL fit the stock motor mount?
Any required mods?

What throttle curves are you using?

Thanks.

Yes I'm running the stock ESC with the 430XL. The stock Eflite motor and the 430XL are close enough that there is no problem. I did have to ream out the motor mount hole slightly to use the Align motor but that took only a few minutes.

One advantage to the Align 430XL is that you won't rub the battery. This motor has a can cover.
