mSR binding problems

I just bought a dx6i for my RTF mSR, but it won't bind. The blue LED on the heli keeps flashing while I'm trying to bind (pull trainer switch while turning on the transmitter). I waited for more than a minute, but nothing changes. Tried both holding the trainer switch for the entire time, and releasing it after the transmitter displays "bind". Trims are zeroed and throttle is all the way down. I also tried it with the main and tail motor disconnected, since I found that suggestion on some forum, but that didn't help either.
I also tried to re-bind the stock transmitter, but the result is the same - the LED keeps flashing. However, the stock transmitter is still bound anyway, since I never managed to bind to the dx6i.

Any ideas, anyone?

Thanks a lot!

Edit:

OK, figured it out. Didn't have the throttle trim centered, because I thought I read somewhere that it should be all negative during binding. Also had to experiment with the modulation type on the dx6i - and an almost empty battery in the heli doesn't really help either...
