Hows my flying?

The video isn't to good because i took it with my phone. And had to decode and encode it twice(the second time it ended up wide, i don't know why)

Hows my hovering? Am i close to being good at it? I know its a short video, but i hover like that for almost whole packs.(except where i get bored and try some foward flight, which landed me iupside down in a tree)

I am no expert but I think you doing good. Keep at it. I read in "Radds School Of Flight" posted in a forum here that you do not want to ever be out of control of the heli while flying. Out of control is determined by the heli being in a place that you did not put it. I noticed that during your flight you seemed to be chasing the heli. This will change as experience increases. Also, in the same document it was writen that you want to whatch the head of the heli. Doing this will allow you to see where the heli is planning to go before it goes. Please don't get me wrong I think you are doing great just offering some suggestions.

Great Job,

That looks about how I flew when I first go into decent hovering. As far as being out of control goes, it's more a stability issue with the CP, if it was rock steady like beiiger helis it would be a different story. If I were you I'd start head in soon, the longer you wait the hearder it will be. Trust me. I learned tail in, FF, and FFF, and some basic aaerobatics before realizing, hey, I gotta learn to hover this head in... how stupid is that! Then it's harder to learn because your always thinking, hmmm, this sucks, let's fly over there... and then there you are, not learning head in like you were supposed to be... Your doing good though!

ANY flight that results in a heli that has no broken parts is a good one! Especially for us noobs... Also, just the fact that you flew it without banging it up in such a small/crowded space is impressive!

You are still over-controlling a bit, which everyone does at first (and I still do under certain conditions). Keep practicing, and also do your best to make sure your heli is set up as good as it reasonably can be. Something like poor blade tracking, or a slightly bent flybar will make it MUCH harder to fly, and that's the last thing we need while learning!

I'm not sure how long you've been flying, but you seem to be doing well. You have the heli somewhat under control. Practice will increase your control until you OWN it :)

good luck and keep flying...

Hey not bad at all!!! If I did that good tonight I probably wouldnt be making a list of parts to buy tomorrow. Pretty soon you'll be hovering in the shower.

I bought it in the begining of june.

I am still working on hovering, just checking on my progress. Right now the blades are a little smashed in on the tips and the shaft is a little bent. I had a accident involving a tree, it was fine till it got knocked out of the tree, and i haven't had a chance to goto the hobby store yet. I have the bell hiller head on it, which i think made it easier to fly. And i'm hoping to have enough to get a lithium and a optic 6 when i get paid.

Will a thunder power 910mAh lipo work ok for me? And should i be considering a trex, or should i wait till i can do some advanced flight on the bcp?

Gonwee,

Super job flying in an enclosed area like that. I don't know your total ability, but if you can't do figure eights, you may want to consider flying the CP until you can.. The T-REX is a great heli, but also much more expensive, parts too.

Just an FYI,

The T-REX upgrade has been put off for awhile till i get the cp flying again, i fried the 4-in-1 trying to hook my hitec reciever to the esc/gyro part of the 4-in-1. And i decided instead of putting money into another 3-in-1, i'm going to get 2 brushed motor esc(main and tail) and a good gyro. Which will make a lipo/charger and the frame/esc/motor the only things i need to get for the trex.
