CF blades make the difference.
Well, after a stupid crash day before yesterday I decided to finally put on my CF main blades because I'm actually too broke to buy another set at the moment, and I've had them in my tool box since the day I bought the heli. They were there to entice me to leanr to get good enough so I could justify using them... Well, as it turns out, I have all of the upgrades excepting the aluminum swash, and the CF blades from E-Flite already on the copter, so this rounded out the package pretty much. I have to say I was amazed at the differance they made. It was phenominal, it spools up faster, and it was way more stable than it ever has been in the past!! I was able to take thumb off of the right stick completely for nearly 5 or 6 seconds before needing to make a correction at all, and even then, it was only a small correction. In short, as soon as your good enough that you have the aerobatics kit on the heli, and when you do crash you think, "wow, that hasn't happened in like forever!" Go ahead and put them on! I should have put them on a while ago.

I've heard that they fly well. LOL... I still haven't even taken my wood symmetrical blades out of the package yet :)

RE: CF blades make the difference.
thanks for the tip. I have not put mine on yet and probably should. I've been getting my loops and rolls down lately and having a ball!!! I bet the carbons would make a difference.

I beleive they are more stable because of a greater head speed... Which actually makes it more responsive. Which from flying with them, I would say they make it more stable, but it still reacts as quick, if not quicker.

How are the CF blades for resisting damage?? Im guessing they must be somewhat tougher than the wood ones. Wood just rubs the ground and they peel like bananas

Psikelly,
You still up, eating your capt'n crunch:D:D The CF blades are way tuff, by 10 fold, compared to the standard flat or sym woodies. And more stable, that's the good points. The one drawback is, if someone is still prone to crashing a lot, the CF blades are so tuff, you start breaking other parts, like blade grips and rotor head. I love rippled chips, Dave / Choppersrule |
RE: CF blades make the difference.
lol No im all done with the Capn for tonight. Maybe rippled chips and milk might go good.
Well Im using the plastiblades still but I dont want the CF for stunts. Im still just hovering in the basement. I mainly wanna get them cuz they look so much cooler than what I have on lol I havent crashed in a few packs, gettin fairly good. My birthday is in Sept. so Im giving my wife, mother in law and other family members a list of plane and heli upgrades. (just to make shopping easier you see) lol |
RE: CF blades make the difference.
They do look pretty cool. I got to thinking about it and even if I do break the grips it may be a little more work but who cares, they're only like 10 bucks or whatever, it's cheaper than 16 bucks a pop for those stupid wood blades!

RE: CF blades make the difference.
I do like the plasti blades. Theyve saved me a LOT of money. Its just that the CF looks so much cooler. And as we all know its 90% about having your heli looking as awesome as you want it to lol

RE: CF blades make the difference.
the thing is - if yur crashin a lot, as chopersrule says,
the cfs will break the delicate stuff in the head/but if your not crashing then you dont need the added blade strength! the flight is smoother but loops are much harder with the cfs - need more speed/height have gone back to woods, the drawbacks outweigh the benefits probly be great with brushless! |
