bcp flybar weights
hey guys i am getting better a very lil at a time lol ....but today i bent the main rotor shaft......oh well .....but i swore i read somewhere on here that adding flybar weights hep tame the cp down a lil ...is that true?.
thanks otto |
RE: bcp flybar weights
Yes it is true . The same as heavier paddles they do the same job . When your flying 3D you want your flybar light and your paddles light for snappy moves and the opposite for beginners . :)

RE: bcp flybar weights
Yup. Add a weight on each side on the outside. The added weight should decrease your headspeed a bit and also slow down the cyclic response which tames it down. I havent done this but seen guys talking about taming them this way. When you think about it you can visualize how it would work.

RE: bcp flybar weights
I have a Blade CP Pro
I added extra weights (1 wheel collar each side) to my flybar. Put on Plasti Blades (more weight) Turned up the pitch on the blades (1 turn on the links), I may go anther turn It calmed the CP Pro Down and made it easier to fly |
RE: bcp flybar weights
great thanks guys ......i'll order some collars .......i already have the plastic blades and suffered a boom strike .wasnt to bad just a lil crack..........i solved that problem w/ a carbon arrow and some epoxy i had layin around.
thanks again otto |
RE: bcp flybar weights
As far as your bent main shaft goes...
Pull it out and roll it over a flat surface (plate glass, ground metal surface, etc) Find the bends and with a hammer tap them out. I put a block of wood under it and keep tapping at it until it it straight again. Works like a charm |
RE: bcp flybar weights
awsome trick ad5tb.....i did it and that took all but 2 minutes ........works great........i knew the shaft was bent for a while now just wanted to fly it more b4 repalcing it ........glad you told me that trick ..now it's a lot easier to get off the ground and lil easier to control .....shoulda done that sooner
thanks again otto |
RE: bcp flybar weights
I have two main shafts on in the Heli and one that is straighted out and ready to go.
When I bend one I swap it out and then straighten out the bent one for the next time My son picked up a used Blade CP for $100.00 and It had the shaft between the two blade grips that was bent I straightened that one out too. I keep the broken pieces around and fix them when possible. keep reading the forums there are a lot of good tips in here. |

ORIGINAL: ad5tb When I bend one I swap it out and then straighten out the bent one for the next time Then again, I guess it's more efficient to straighten the two at the same time. :) (You know, tools already brought out to the workbench, etc.) ORIGINAL: ad5tb I keep the broken pieces around and fix them when possible. RE: bcp flybar weights
Oh but those Plasti blades are so cool when they hit stuff
Had a boom strike yesterday Blades Dented Boom Shattered Good thing I kept a spare boom on hand. I'm almost convinced there is a CBer in the neighborhood as I and my son both get glitches I had the freq counter running and the wide band receiver to try to find it (source of interference) |

ORIGINAL: ad5tb Oh but those Plasti blades are so cool when they hit stuff One of the plasti-blades is dinged out beyond repair. Will go back to them flat-bottom woodies after all. Biker-74 |
RE: bcp flybar weights

-Flat Bottoms Plastiblades -G90 Gyro -E-power 11.1V 3s 1300mah lipo -Superskids -flywbar weights |

try different antenna routing. the heli guru at the LHS told me the wire wrapped around the skid is not a good idea, despite what Horizon claims. I'm running mine down a long plastic tube. Also put a ferrite ring on the main motor pigtail. seems better now (I was plagued by glitches) but it still does that weird little 'jumping' thing. I dunno if that's radio related or the swash sticking or some other mechanical problem. I'm eventually going to get a high end PCM radio. |

I was thinking about running the antenna down a tube along the tail boom or going with one of those mini antenna's Then again this may be reason to buy one of those Spektrum radios ;) |
