problem with cx

Okay, my friends cx has very short flight times. The bats are new and I have changed the motors. The heli was bought new by him and he has hardly flown it. What else could it be? I would really like to get him back up in the air.

What do you consider short flight times?

less than 1 min

I had the same problem.

Disasemble it

Clean it

Reassemble and Lube everything (sparingly) I used Molly-B grease (a little goes a long way).

Set your gear mesh.

Mine went from about a minute to about 10 or so.

what are you cleaning all moving parts? motors are new so no cleaning needed there? it has been all apart and it was not really dirty. I'll give it a try though. Also has not had too much flight time maybe 30 flights maybe.

Yes clean all the moving parts.

I did not clean out the motors but I did clean off the gear on the motor.

You want to make sure no grit from the packing, etc. is in there.

Then lube the shafts where they touch the bearings, any surface that rubs another.

You can build up a lot of debris on a rubbing surface with out any lubrication in just a few minutes.

Mine was just a few weeks old and went to flight times of 1 minute as well.

The clean and lubrication fixed it right up.

Moly-b is great stuff, the stuff I have is for working on VCR's so as far as I can tell safe for plastics.

All you need is a thin film of it don't goop it on as it will then attract dust.

Good Luck!

How long are you up to?

Just ran full pack got 5-min. How are you getting 10 If I remember right he never got 10 min flight times when new. He'll be a lot happier now though at least he's getting 5 min of flight. When do you stop flying your (how do you tell it's time to land before damaging bat). I fly a cp2 with a bat monitor so it's self explanatory on mine.

RE: problem with cx

I just charge and Fly (I have 3 batteries)

When it won't go up easily any more I land and recharge.

My 5+ minute battery is my weak one.

The other 2 Give me about 10 minutes.

The Moly-B must have helped plus mine is probably more broken in so things turn easier.

I also have the tail replaced with a boom, and the brass weights are pulled out of the fly-bar so it may be a little lighter over all.

Its possible that hes running his batteries too low and theyre slowly dying from being overdischarged. Most people dont know that you cant run down lipos too far or theyll die. As soon as you sense your heli is losing power because the battery is dying you need to shut it down. Dont try to get another 2 minutes flying out of it because youre just gonna hurt it
