Direct Drive Tail CPP

Just installed the direct drive tail identical to the one Nick Maxwell used in that insane CPP video that has been floating around. I only have one flight on it so I cant comment on its long term reliability but the performance IS AMAZING! The tail is incredibly solid, I am using the stock gyro and even under high pitch loadings, the tail holds very well. A big plus to the mod is that you dont really have to worry about the tail rotor hitting the ground because the new blade is about 2" shorter than the stock one. The only modifications needed are a slight removal of platsic from the stock mount becuase the stock motor has flat sides and the replacement is round. Also, it adds a bit of weight to the tail but I think less than the dual motor mod. I also noticed an approx 10% reduction in flight time, however, I would rather have a more stable 8 min flight than a crappy 10 min flight. For only $13 shipped, including the motor, 2 blades, and a heatsink, whats not to love? Here is a [link=http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1018873]link[/link] to Nick Maxwells setup to give you an idea of whats going on.
