Separate gyro and Rx
So, I've got a complete airframe w/Esky servos sitting here. I also have a couple of micro 6ch recievers (a Dynam and an Align) sitting here doing nothing, as well as a Telebee HH piezo gyro. All I'm going to need to do is add a stock E-flite 3-in-1 controller to make all this work, right?
Thanks. |
RE: Separate gyro and Rx
Might as well just get the Eflite or GWS 2-in-1 mixer since you have a separate gyro. No need for the extra weight and cost of the 3-in-1 if you are just going to be disabling its gyro anyway.
Should work fine, what TX do you plan to use? |
RE: Separate gyro and Rx
Thanks, I don't know why that hadn't occurred to me. I'm pretty new to electric r/c, and all I've actually dealt with so far are the 3 and 4-in-1 units, so that's where my mind was at. As for radios, I have several Tx's here that I can use....of those, I'll probably use the 9chp since it has the synth module, and also I can tame things down a bit with it.

RE: Separate gyro and Rx
I am not familiar with that radio. Does it have a helicopter mode? Because a CP helicopter has several specific functions that are needed for best results, like throttle/collective pitch mixing and programmable pitch curves and an Idle-up flight mode...
And I think the heli you are building has eCCPM on the swash, electronic cyclic/collective pitch mixing, which is done in the transmitter...? |
RE: Separate gyro and Rx
Yes, It's a Futaba 9CHP.... a (9) channel - (C)omputer - (H)eli - (P)CM. It's got the synthesizer module so you can select whatever channel you want to use via a couple of trimpot-style microswitches on the back side. And yes, it has provisions for the eCCPM 120 degree swash, so it'll work fine with the CP. There's also a thread on this forum that detailed programming this the 9chp for the CP.
