CX2 making circle, need help!

Hi, after reading all the Cx2 fan take their heli outdoor, I did my share of outdoor flying, some good day, some not too good, bascially is the wind. No patient! "NO CAN WAIT". Come on, man, when a grown man have a RC toy in his hand, that is what happen, knowing that the wind is a lttle to strong, but still go for it....... then....... "CRASH !!!!!"
After the crash, the heli started to act funny, when I hover and check the trim, the heli starts to make circle, the entire heli is making circle, not nose turn, just moving around and around. when it build momentun, it will make a bigger circle and go faster. Try to trim it , but can not fix all the "circle motion" Is that what you guy descripe as "Toilet bowl" ??
OK, here is what I did.
remove both up and bottom blades, check balance, OK, no problem
Check the metal bar on the top, it appears a little off, took it out and fix it the best I can.
My CX2 still like to make circle afte my limited repair skill.
Any suggestion what is the next step??? [sm=72_72.gif]

Yep, tinchao, that's the toilet bowl. It is related to the flybar, very difficult to get it exactly straight and balanced again after a crash.
Also be sure you got the link on the right way around, looks like it shouldn't matter but it sometimes does. You know what I mean, take the flybar out, turn it 180, put it back on with the link onto the other blade, and see if that makes any difference.

I experienced balancing both blades helped my toilet bowl effect!

Flybar as well!

Screw the blades together off the heli and balance them on the balls! (sorry for saying screw and balls in the same sentence) :)

Thanks robmoney and Jellyson.

:D[sm=lol.gif] That was funny about the screw and the balls !

When I check the blade balance, I put it on the mini screwdriver that comes with the CX2.
I will try to check the flybar again tonight and let you guys know. It is hard to straighten it......

I crash again inside the house because the toilet bowl effect. The heli moving around so much. I was flying and my wife walk by, the heli get too close to the wall, need to make a choice either "MAY BE" hitting my wife or hit the wall.........[sm=72_72.gif] So, you know the ending, if I hit the wall, I fix the heli... If I hit my wife, she will fix me up, big time.... [sm=punching.gif]

I found that if you screw the blades together, then balance the blade on the balls only, between two equal height coffee mugs works great!

I now have two pieces of wood 1x6 that are perfectly square!

Almost forgot!

Tighten the screws in the collar that holds in the upper shaft, and press the upper shaft down and the collar up as you tighten screws!

Good luck!

Hi, guys
I turn the flybar around, fix the flybar the best I can, the toilet bowl effect is not as bad now, but still not as stable, this thing never stay still from day one.
fly it outside again, won't move forward flying against the wind, if I adjust the servo, do you think I will have more forward power?
Also, it the blade is not balance, what do I do? Put a tape on the blade?
I crack the front body during last crash, put some tape on it, but it does not hold up too well. Any suggestion how to fix the crack / damage?
Thanks

You can drill or melt a small hole on both sides of the crack to ensure that it doesn't spread. As far as repairing it, some scotch tape on each side should work alright.

I had a slight case of the TBE last week..........took a couple of aspirin and did all the above and it was still there, even though very slight. Pulled the inner shaft and rolled it along a glass top table edge and sure enough, it was ever so slightly bent. Straightened it and cured the TBE!

Reminder about blade balance:
Look for the little numbers on the top blades near the attach point. They indicate the blade weight class. Upper blades need to match.
Lowers aren't as important balancewise so they aren't marked.

Most of my lower blades ARE marked. Even at that, some matching numbers don't balance out all that well, I end up going through a couple of packages of upper and lower and rubber band together pairs I get a good balance with.

.
I put a small patch of 1/2 oz. fiberglass cloth on the inside of the body, more than large enough to cover the cracked area, and flood the area with CA, and then activator.
The repair is stronger than the body.

Hi Tallpaul
What is CA? and what is the activitor, it must have something to do with the fibergrass cloth....[sm=72_72.gif]
I think I can most likely find them in the LHS
To all of you, Merry Christmas & Happy Holiday! For those who stuck in the snow, a little something to cheer you up! Hope you can see the photo below.

Mele kalikimaka tinchao, aloha!
Nice picture, wish I was there.

I use electrical tape, I have some in the right colors, on the inside, then CA.
(That's that stuff that sticks to your fingers better than anything else in the world...)
Tougher than original, but not as good a repair as Tall Pauls idea.
You can get that glass cloth at any marine supplier, you might have to buy a big piece though!

CA is Cyano-Acrylate glue.. It sets up much more quickly with the spray-on acitivator. Your LHS should have both.
The fiberglass cloth.. I had that lying around from other stuff. It comes in various weights.. 1/2oz is about as light as it gets.
