Problems with a CX2
I got a used CX2 and both the lower and upper blades spin the same direction. My son has a CX and the upper and lower blades sin in the opposite directions.
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
You will have to unplug and reverse the motor lead for whichever motor is spinning backwards. Use the CX as your model, for which blades should spin which direction. It's a 5 minute job, if that.
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
The leading edge of the blade is the straight edge, not the curvy edge. Make sure the previous owner didn't put the same blades on the upper and lower positions. As silly as it sounds, it happens.
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
On the CX2, the upper blade spins counterclockwise & the lower clockwise.
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
Okay got the blades rotating the right directions. Now when the heli is facing me as I give it full throttle it leans to the right and tips over.
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
that sounds like your trim is out of wack. try moving the trim lever under the right control stick (cyclic? collective? i can never remember which is which) to the left. you should see noticable improvement. if you reach the limit of the trim's adjustability, you will need to adjust the linkage. to do this, re-center the trim lever and watch the control linkage. if the linkage goes down when you center, disconnect the linkage from the ball and rotate the linkage end to make it longer. just one turn at a time. reconnect the linkage and try again. if the linkage moved up initially, then you'll have to shorten the linkage. you should get the idea. a little trial and error will yield great dividends since this type of control is pretty common to these helis.

RE: Problems with a CX2
i may have got the direction backwards, if it is tipping to YOUR right, then it is the HELI's left...so trim right.
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
Okay.
I disconnected the servos and it still leans to the right (when nose is pointed at you) I recentered the servos. Tried it again and it still leans to the right (when nose is pointed at you) |
RE: Problems with a CX2
Look at your heli from behind it. The servo on the right will control your left/right yaw. If yuo are tipping to the right with the nose pointing to you, then you are tippin left with the nose away from you. Take the clevise of the right side servo off of the swash plate, turn it clockwise 1 complete turn, reinstall the clevise and try it again. You may have to do this a time or two till the heli stays where you want it. Let us know how you make out.
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
What is the clevise?
Do you have instant messenger? |
RE: Problems with a CX2
The clevice is the little circular part that attaches the servo rod to the swashpalte.
Picture this: The servo arm is attached to a rod that goes up to your swashplate. At the tip of the rod is a small, plastic piece with a circular hole in it that is threaded onto the rod from the servo. Te circular parts snaps onto a ball shaped piece on the swashplate. This is the clevice and can be unsnapped from the ball on the swash plate. Hope that explains it better. |
RE: Problems with a CX2
Okay.
In the rc cars those are called tierods & ballcup. |
RE: Problems with a CX2
same idea. in the cars they are a cup, but on these they are a ring. thus the new name. same function though.
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
Okay guys, I checked everything still having the same problem. So I unplugged the servos and it still does the same thing. I'm going to go to the LHS this morning and see what have to say.
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
LHS...always a good call.[8D]
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
Yep, I agree they sell between 4-6 CX2's a week...........................
The shop deals in helis and planes so I trust what they are going to tell me. |
RE: Problems with a CX2
Make sur eto come back & let us know how you made out. Out of curiousity, have you checked to make sure your swashplate isn't seperated? It is a 2 piecec unit and that may be a cause also.
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
Well I went to the hobby store and they think it could be the inner shaft. While I was there I switch the spots the motors where plugged in and it was still doing the same thing. I also replaced the flybar and still no luck................ Could it be the 4in1?
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
Does the nose starting spinning in a certain direction & then it tips over?
I'm not seeing how the inner shaft can create the problem you described. A bent inner shaft will cause vibration but to the point of tipping it over? |
RE: Problems with a CX2
Nope the nose doesn't spin. When I start to throttle up it just lays over on it's side. I completely confused with this. My son's CX flies just fine with out any problems.
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
That is odd. If you have access to your son's CX, the parts between the CX & CX 2 are interchangeable. If the LHS suspects the inner shaft/upper head, swap the one from your son's CX and see what that does.
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
I bought a new inner shaft but I forgot my screwdriver at home so I can't check to see if that is the problem. Would the 4in1 cause this?
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
you know what... look at your swashplate and see if it's come apart... seems to me that mine did this for a while and this is what I found wrong..
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
What exactly am I looking for?
|
RE: Problems with a CX2
look for the swashplate, it's about as big as your thumbs, has two balls on it for the servo's to connect to, should be just below your lower blade... this should be one piece of plastic, you should not be able to see the bearing, and the top "hat" looking part should be seated down inside the swashplate with the outer shaft going through it..
if you flip it with your fingernail and the thing rattles and comes apart, you either need a new one or glue the one you have.. compare them between the two heli's.. |
