Simulator Software + Cable For Blade CX2 Transmitter
Well, the title pretty much explains it.
Now that I have a heli transmitter (the one that came with my Blade CX2) I would like to buy simulator software to learn more about flying bigger helicopters. The most important part is that the package must include a cable that will work with my transmitter. Or if I can buy the cable seperately, that will also be OK. Suggestions? http://www.imagehosting.com/out.php/i663441_trainer.jpg |
RE: Simulator Software + Cable For Blade CX2 Transmitter
interesting plug. i've never seen the trainer port on a spektrum radio before. looks like they finally made it simple enough to get the job done without the typical extra wires.
i'd assume there's a ppm signal coming out of there somewhere. if so i'm sure someone has already made a cable to work with ppjoy or the sound card drivers. perhaps spektrum makes a trainer cable? anyone? -kev |

you might try these guys
http://www.milehighwings.com/ http://simblaster.com/ http://www.micro-gadget.com/RC-Gadget.aspx you might also just try a male to male 3.5mm headphone cord and use ppjoy. It might just be as easy as that. My LHS said eflite is supposed to release sim cords for the heli's at the end of april... lol yeah right! they should be working on them though, and they might be out sometime in the near future. My LHS said they would only run 10 bucks |

I found [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230131443604&ssPageNam e=MERCOSI_VI_ROSI_PR4_PCN_BIX_Stores&refitem=23013 1990994&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item& refwidgettype=osi_widget]this one on ebay[/link] and the guy says that it will be OK with my transmitter.
I have my doubts though. [&o] |

I tried to use a standard stereo cable with ppjoy. I was unable to calibrate the joystick controls, as the axis' feedback was giving spastic results. I could almost get the rudder control to work, But that was about it.
I think that maybe the trainer cable has a switchover circuit, resister, or capacitor of some kind. Giving the output to the computer a clearer signal that can be used to function as an input control device. I'm going to buy the training cable and give it a try. I'll keep you guys posted.... |

anybody seen or tried this at all? I would THINK it would work... afterall.. .you can bind a dx6/7 with the cx2. I know its 50$ bucks... but still, my pc is hooked to a 60" tv that I would use... its not fun sitting there with a 5 ft cable 4 ft infront of the tv. |

You have to use that cable with FSOne flight sim. It will not work with any other sim I don't think. I am not a expert on those, but I do have FSOne and the DX6...........hmmmmmmmm. also the CX2 is a 2.4 TX so possibly it might work. Can't tell you for sure, but the sim costs 179 bucks alone plus 50 for the adapter, FSOne with TX included is 209 bucks. Just tossing that out there.
