CP Pro Interference! STATIC OR RADIO OR???
I have a CP Pro that drives me nuts. Sometimes she hovers great other times it fights like hell. It will Twitch nose down, surge in speed, jump direction. If I run my finger around the right control stick, barely touching it, the blades twitch. This is when on the ground without any throttle. Today it was running her blades on and off quickly when I touched the left stick lightly with my finger. I hit a metal piece on the wall, with heli throttle off, with the antenna, and nearly took off for the moon I quickly stopped touching it. Does anyone see similar problems? CAN ANYONE HELP AND DO THE SAME TEST? Eflite Knows Nothing. It seems like static charges. I tried to ground myself and the radio but it didn't help. Anyone have an extra radio I can try or buy???? I don't think its the 3 in one. A real rip to hover! THANKS RON

I had two similar issues. Found that by shaking the tx the heli would jump and twitch. That was after I had tried to find the glitch elsewhere. A simple tightening of the antenna in the tx by screwing it in fixed the big problem. Smaller glitches were interference that a DX7 radio took care of. I had a need for new radio so I got the DX7 and swapped out the rx in the cp pro.
Also, take the back off the tx and look for loose antenna leads inside the radio. Good luck |

Un fortunately RTF radios are always junk imo. You have to start a process of elimination from loose batt in Tx, crytals, interferance from esc....on and on.... I had probs withmy stock setup and eventually found my Rx wasnt working right. If I put pressure on the servo plugs where they went into the Rx everything worked fine then if I wiggled then or tried to fly the main motor would cut in & out.

I was encountering the same problem as well. I was outside and my cp pro would sometimes shoot up about 4 feet then right back down. Or sometimes the tail rotor would twich the nose to the left by about 45 degrees. Also the aleron control would just twitch and send the heli shooting briefly off to the right.
I ended up taking the rotor head off and disconnecting the motors and watched to see what would happen. I found that if i touched the right stick the right aileron control servo would momentarily activate and decrease the pitch on the right servo to sent the heli off to the right. I traced it down to a dirty potentiometer in the transmitter. I opened up the transmitter and took a can of contact cleaner specifically designed for cleaning electrical contacts in potentiometers and sprayed inside the potentiometer through an access hole. I then operated the aileron control to the left then to the right many times to clean the contacts (about 50 to 100 times). The cleaner I used was a product called nu-trol, however you could probably go into an electronics supply store and tell them that you suspect you have a dirty potentiometer and you need a spray on contact cleaner for it and they should be able to recommend a good cleaner for this purpose. I proceded to clean each of the potentiometers in the transmitter and have not had any trouble with it since. Something you might want to check out as a possible cause. |

Also check for a loose Tx antenna connection and or bad solder joint at the circuit board. I had a coax do the pretty much the same thing and it turned out that the Tx antenna solder joint to the main board was cracked.
