BCP flips too slow?
I recently got my BCP upgraded with aerobatic upgrade, and took it outside today to fly. Did a few circuits, then headed off at about 40ft and tried to do a loop. The heli finally made it inverted by about 5ft off the ground. Picked it up, went off again and tried a roll this time. Actually made it inverted, and almost back to normal when it hit the ground. It is very good at doing stall turns, but thats about all it can do without slamming into the ground.
Any ideas? John |
RE: BCP flips too slow?
Is it totally stock?
Is it upgraded to Bell Hiller pitch control? What are your pitch settings, Negative and Positive? Stock blades? AB |
RE: BCP flips too slow?
It's completely stock except for the new main motor with 9t pinion and heat sink, new tail motor with heat sink, and symetrical wooden blades. Pitch settings I haven't checked with a guage just followed the guide here.... http://bladecprepair.com/man_mr_setu...djustment#zero I dont plan on buying the bell hiller upgrade, just flying the BCP till it can't fly anymore with the parts I have.

RE: BCP flips too slow?
You should switch to LiPo batteries when you put on the aerobatic upgrade. The 9 tooth pinion on the stock NiMH batteries doesn't have enough headspeed.

RE: BCP flips too slow?
Got one already, sorry forgot to mention it.

RE: BCP flips too slow?
Are you just trying to do a flip with no inverted pitch at all? Just like, a straight up elevator flip?
My CPP with brushless has a hard time doing straight elevator flips without getting buried. |
RE: BCP flips too slow?
I was saving the negaitve pitch until it actually got inverted, but it takes about 3-5seconds for the heli to actually get inverted.

RE: BCP flips too slow?
get the bell hiller upgrade, you can just buy the components seperately to save some money, it'll drastically improve your cyclic rate, and i have a mod to futher increase it without buying anything else. also putting on a trex 220 flybar will keep the same cyclic rate but be much more stable. if your looking to do 3D then the bell hiller is a must...

RE: BCP flips too slow?
I'll second the Bell/Hiller upgrade.

ORIGINAL: chopperdudes also putting on a trex 220 flybar will keep the same cyclic rate but be much more stable. |
RE: BCP flips too slow?
yeah it requires drilling out the head and the paddle control frame. but when you get the bell hiller upgrade, you can just switch which side connects to the head/swash and make it even MORE responsive.
