i've been wanting a bigger size cx, soooo....

what if i just put the big blades from the hbfpv4 on some modded blade grips and pumped up the motors and battery to handle the extra weight?

hmmmmm.......worried about burning up the esc's, but a really quick test?!?!?

add a longer boom and larger canopy, and i've got my monster cx!!!

another frankencopter!!!

Funny you should bring that up. I was looking at my falcon blades wondering if I could do the same. It ought to lift off at about 200 rpm with those blades on it.
The blades weigh nearly as much as the rest of the heli! But it would be fun. Just hook the blades on with rubber bands for the trial run.
Hang on, what are you gonna use for upper blades?
You bugger - ya got me!

I can't see the stock escs handling that... I can make you an uhhhh... adapter that'll let you do it though.

When my HDX arrives (and i'm done building it and i can fly it, so don't expect it to happen anytime soon ;)) i'm gonna mod my CX2 to run brushless, only using the 4-in-1 as gyro and receiver. I've seen guys doing this, so i'm thinking i can do that too! :)

The brusless can get it to run longer and on higher rpm (not *****g out so easily, although its the 4-in-1 that's limiting the CX2 not the engines)! So in theory (shafts will become next problem) it should be able to run heavier and longer blades!

cx2cp+; you can repair the PWS's (ESC for brushed i believe) in the 4-in-1 if your good with electronics. I am far from good, but i've just soldered my way into my DX7 (changing voltage regulator from linear to switching, way more efficient, turned out pretty nice! guide is in the making), so the 4-in-1 isn't gonna scare me anymore (if it'll ever fry, mine seems pretty stable).

If you fry them PWS's, you have a good opportunity to place some bigger ones in there! Instead of 6A-rated (probably max 4A without heatsinks, if i was paying enough attention to mrasmm :)), you might go with 8A-rated, or just the same ones, but with heatsinks! :D

Mod everything you've got! [8D]
