Help Please CX Binding
I just got the E-flite aluminum swashplate and now I am hearing a really bad squeak. It flies just like the stock setup but I would feel better if the noise was gone. When I move the swashplate by it self there is no noise. I think I narrowed the problem to the linkage between the swash and the lower rotors. There is no problem when there is one linkage on but when both are on its hard to move the assembly. I lubricated both plastic and metal ball joints and sanded the plastic ball joints to get rid of the ridge around it but the noise is still there. Both linkages by themselves move freely on the plastic and metal ball joints. I was wondering if any one had this problem and knows how to fix it.

RE: Help Please CX Binding
The aluminum is louder somewhat than the plastic stock stuff; but if it's kinda a grating squealing sound; check to make sure the screw that holds the aluminum lock collar onto the outer shaft that rests just below the squash plate isn't carving into the inside of the squash plate underneath. If it is; make sure it's tight or replace with another screw that is shorter. I lubricate the sliding components; well everything in the squash with a thick grease. Lithium or Tri-flow grease. Oil, I think is too light IMO, for bearings, the sliding upper on the squash; try to squeeze some grease into that. Wipe most of the excess off.
Not knowing the noise; it may 'break in' and dissappear; but I don't know. If it's lubricated good, You've done about all I think You can do. If it gets louder, then maybe a faulty part. |

I found out what the majority of the problem is. The connector between the swash and lower blade ball joints was rubbing against the swashplate. I just trimmed the connector and backed out the swash ball joint a bit. There is no metal to metal contact. And when the swash spins it is silent. Goldslinger thanks for your input.
