CX2/CP Control Differences?
To all my CX2 friends who also fly a single rotor CP machine,
How does flying a coaxial CX2 differ from flying a single rotor CP as far as control inputs? Are the sticks the same? Left stick- throttle/rudder and Right stick- elevator/aileron; trims the same etc. What other control inputs do you use during standard flying? I'm not talking about programming and initial setup. At least not yet. I have no idea what I'm getting myself into. I've never actually seen or held a 6/7 channel Tx. Whatever you can tell me, please do so, because I don't know it. |
RE: CX2/CP Control Differences?
The controls are the same exactly the same to the end user.
On a CP machine, the pitch is mixed into the throttle stick. Once programmed, you dont worry about it. More throttle = more pitch (in normal mode). So you go up. Just like the CX2. Aside from it being inherently unstable, the flight controls are the same. Wolf, BTW Short Flybar, hub to end of bar = 60 LONG flybar = 70 just remeasured them. RE: CX2/CP Control Differences?
Id say the biggest diffrence is how much easier it is to fly the Cx2, but yep..mainly all the same, even you transmitter is same...

RE: CX2/CP Control Differences?
the only other difference there might be is the remote gyro gain to switch from HH to rate mode and back. You do have to have an upgraded gyro for that though =P
check out this video for the difference http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TLD8CqsN0M |
RE: CX2/CP Control Differences?
biggest difference is that, from hover, if you slam the right stick forward and hold it there, on the cx you get fast forward flight - if you did that on the cp, it would eat a lot of dirt before it died
putting the idle-up switch on makes the throttle stick be upside-down to the end user (makes different pitch settings on the heli too, but i dare you to check the difference at the cp's head speed), maybe that's what you were talking about? edge |
RE: CX2/CP Control Differences?
Holding a 6/7 channel TX isn't any different from holding the LP5DSM :). The sticks are (as said and explained earlier) functioning the same, its the mixing that does the trick :). Actually, i once knew what the 5th channel is for, but i can't recall :).
Furthermore (for example on my DX7), it has 2 switches that make up the remaining two channels (for my DX7: Gear & Aux2). And of course, also the differences in the 1 or 2 mode :). |
