RE: Need a new servo for my Blade CP

you'll probably want to go with the hs55's from hitec, you'll have to reverse atleast one of them though, the directions for that are here
hrm the site seems to be down
www.heli-max.net is where it is under howto's and hs55 servo reversing mod about 1/3 to 1/2 way down

hobbyhorse.com had the best price when i was looking

thanks alot and at 9.99 each, they are really cheap. also what connectors should i choose.

Hitec, JR, New Airtronics Z "S" Connector
Futaba "J" Connector

RE: Need a new servo for my Blade CP

the S connector, although you can just file off the extra on the J connector if you want. either one works =)

Haha, here is a newbie question- how do you know it is "dead?"

Does it quit, or does it... What are the symptoms?

Thanks

RE: Need a new servo for my Blade CP

yeah, no problemo =)

they can twitch, or not move as fast as they should, or have stripped teeth, or only move in one direction, or not move with a load, or probably a bunch of other things too =) Some can't center and will keep searching for the center point, they can draw too many amps, cause interference, ect

RE: Need a new servo for my Blade CP

Wow- you could have simplified it by just saying "Worst servo nightmare possible."

lol- thanks

mrasmm 12-01-2007 02:49 AM

RE: Need a new servo for my Blade CP

sure, no prob =)

the most common is probably twitching, stripped teeth, or drawing too many amps or just simply not moving =)

i took that servo apart and i noticed that 1 of the gears were actually shattered. i took off all the gears and plugged it in and it spun so fast that is started smoking. basicly it was done from the shattered gears and now its done for good.

ok i got my servo's. i cancelled my order and went to my local shop and baught just one and not all 3. ive gotten the heli to hover and everything is really good. i am having a problem tho with it wanting to spin counter clockwise. if the tail is facing you and nose out it spins clockwise. ive tryed everything to adjust that but i cant figure it out.

what could it be.

You probably already know this but check your proportional pot on your 3 in 1...Decreasing it will make the nose spin to the left more...Hopefully your tail motor isn't going on ya. 20 hours is approximately the life of the tail motor...Check your TX trims and make sure you didn't bump them over. You'd be amazed on the few that didn't realize this before, so I have to say it...Lol.. It's stuff you probably already know, but I had to remind ya any way.. Good luck, let's us know what ya find for a solution... Jeff ;)

well i have more tail motors. how do you know when its going bad on you. it spins so friggen fast that i dont believe that its bad.

RE: Need a new servo and spin help. please

You'll gradually be adjusting the 3 in 1 more and more and more in time to compensate for the loss power in the tail...You'll notice your proportional is now not the same place it was new, or with a newer motor...It's getting maxxed out, and one day it will just go all at once...You could test the tail to see what it's putting out power wise, but Mrassm will have to help ya with that...Along hopefully with a few other hints to check. Maybe make sure your gear mesh isn't to tight or loose also...This can effect rotation sometimes also...I'am a little rusty at the moment, been gone for the past month..Lol.. Good Luck Capone, you'll get it figured out... Jeff

RE: Need a new servo and spin help. please

well i got the heli to hover but the problem is that i cant get it to stop spinning. ive adjusted everything and tryed everything. i hope that the 4n1 isnt broke.

another thing is. how do you make adjustments to the proportional on the 4n1. adjust while the batt is still plugged in or while the batt is unplugged then plug back in? any help would be nice on that. thanks

RE: Need a new servo and spin help. please

Capone, Funny ya asked, as I almost included that info about the the 3 in 1 on your CP...Lol..Just figured ya probably knew and didn't want to smear repeated info your way... ;) But You must always power down the unit before making adjustments to the prop mix pot...When you then power up and initialize the unit your changes will be there...The other adjustment is your gain for your tail...Very very small increments are only required when turning those pots...I bet if ya haven't done this really yet, that your problem will be solved on your yaw issue...Let us know... Good luck guy, Jeff

RE: Need a new servo and spin help. please

what do you mean by power down first? do you mean unplug the batt then make the adjustment or do you mean leave the throttle stick down while batt is plugged in and 4n1 is armed then adjust then unplug and replug in.

i have read the manual but its not helping me much on this spinning issue. i wish i knew someone around here who could help. my hobby shop is a waste of time the dont like to help anyone ever. there is another shop but its almost 2 hours away and they are the best ive seen yet.. the only thing is they race on weekends so i cant get help till monday and i wanted to fly this thing today.

RE: Need a new servo and spin help. please

Capone, Yes I actually should have stated to unplug the batt...My bad...Lol... There is a difference ! Good ya asked...Unplug the battery then make your adjustments. Then plug in your battery with TX already on, and see which way the nose is turning looking at it from the tail...If the nose goes left, turn the prop adjustment to the right...Only a little..The nose goes right, turn the pot to the left...Just don't forget to unplug the batt each time your adjusting... Jeff

RE: Need a new servo and spin help. please

Capone, I should have gave you these before, but I'll give them to ya now...There a couple websites that will help assist you right now, or later for your CP...There is a section on "Blade Cp Repair" for your 3 in 1 adjustments...The others probably do to, haven't checked. Here ya go:

Hope this helps

I couldn't get the wiki site up, but these two will help for now... Jeff

RE: Need a new servo and spin help. please

thanks alot Michael for the links. after going through the rcuniverse link i found many many mistakes and now with the tail rutter spinning counterclockwise and the main blades spinning clockwise i have now flown the Heli. i have also got the proportional and the gain perfectly set. the cp repair site is worthless in my eyes didnt teach me anything.

i think that the http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_31.../anchor/tm.htm should be made a sticky.

im using a diff name right now so its still 4LC4PON3.
