CX2 battery question(s)
Just got mine yesterday.
Two charges and trimming so far. It takes about 2 hours and 20 minutes for a charge. And I am getting about 10 minutes flight time. Is that right? Can I charge the battery and leave it so it is ready for me when I come home from work the next day? If I get a second battery, can I charge it off the the same charger that comes with the CX2? What is the volts on the transmitter mean? Is that the volts of the batteries the tranmitter? I think that is it. I getting everything else. Thanks in advance for your advice GFP OUT |

RE: CX2 battery question(s)
So are you saying that my charger is only charging one of the two lipo batteries?
Can you suggest a good in expensive balancing charger? There are so many out there, it is hard to really know what is good and what is junk. Hovering question. I just got done with my third run. Trying to get the trim down. Should my heli be able to hover with no input what so ever? Will I have to always give it a little input? Is there an upgrade that makes it hover more steady? again, thnx |
RE: CX2 battery question(s)
Calvino; officially, the charger that comes with the CX2 is a balancing charger. It doesn't really balance to the microVolt but it does balancing somewhat.
So FatPatt, don't worry about that too much. It'll still charge both cells (in CX2 LithiumPolymer aka LiPo there are 2 cells, it's one battery :)) and 10 minutes is pretty good flight time! I get like 6 minutes or less on my stock batteries (although i almost never use them anymore). As you said Patt, there are sooo many different types of chargers and balancers. If you're just getting started, just wait until you know what you want and how to use it, save up for it a bit, do some research and until that, just use the stock charger :). I guess most of us still use it every once in a while! I now have a semi-professional charger with a high-end balancer for my 3 and 4 cell LiPo's (for a bigger heli :)), but i use the little CX2 charger next to it (so i can charge more than one at a time :)). Hehehe, don't expect a so called 'hands-off' hover your third flight mate :). It should be farely stable by itself, but there's too much external factors that can bring the little guy out of balance. It's only like 220 grams, so even the littlest AC breeze will move it :). Once you get more acquinted with the CX2 you'll find that you're no longer reacting to what it does, but you 'feel' what it's going to do :). Upgrades can either massively help stability/flight or mess things up real bad :). Again i suggest; fly it, fly it, break it, fix it, fly it, break it, fix, fly, break, fix over and over and you'll soon learn how stuff works and what can help you with what and what you need for you're type of flight :). |

RE: CX2 battery question(s)
Thanks for the tips and links. Most helpful. I am not looking forward to the breaking part, but I am sure that will happen eventually.
SO much to learn still... thanks again, GFPOUT |
