mCX Binding Problem

I just now decided that I would use my DX6i with my Blade mCX. I got it bound to it but it won't fly. Everything orks but the throttle.
Any ideas

Thank you for your time,
Kyle

How do you have it set up in the radio? Helicopter or airplane settings? Either will work. If heli, which swash mode? It should be set on "Normal, 1 servo". Set up in one of those settings and re-bind. If that doesn't help, try adding throttle trim until the blades start to spin, then back it off a click or 2 until they stop.

I have it set-up as a Heli and did everything you said but it still isn't working. When every I push the TH Hold forward then back it just keeps the roter spinning and I can't trim it out.

My miniCX is the BNF version. I fly it with the xmtr from the CX-2, or my Spektrum DX-7... which would bind to the CX-2, but the throttle wouldn't work! ???
Did you try using the ATV in your DX7 to increase the "throw" of the throttle at the low end? Sometimes our ESCs require a surprisingly small pulsewidth to get them to arm.

Dave, thanks... I just now pulled the throttle trim all the way down, and re-bound the DX-7 to the CX-2.
The whirly things on top now go around with the throttle!
A quite from the CX3 thread. This quote refers to an mCX with the same issue. Give this a shot.

I would have asked if you had the trim down far enough, but the above post hints at that. I would guess that if the dx7 throttle was allowed to be lower, that would have the same effect as lowering the trim. I don't have a dx7 so I can't help there.

People using the stock tx have the same problem when they up the trim past the middle while flying, then change the battery and the rx will not arm because it thinks the throttle is on a little.

He actually has the DX6i. However, the DX7 and DX6i are close enough to have a similar issue when binding.

FWIW... I tried bing my MCX with the DX6I, had hovering and forward flight problems... Finally gave up, rebound it with the little 4-channel RTF Tx, and it's flying like a dream! I'm SURE there are ways to adjust teh DX6I to make things better, but just haven't achieved that level of expertise just yet!

When I got mine, the directions said to use airplane programming and while I see no reason the heli wouldn't work if you figure out the heli settings, it works just fine with it in airplane mode set per directions...;)

RE: mCX Binding Problem

Kyle,
I had the same problem. In my case it was the throttle trim. The throttle needs to off during binding otherwise, as I understand, the system simply disables the throttle. If there is any trim set, the system thinks there is positive throttle and doesn't allow use of the throttle.

I subsequently ran into the same problem on the Blade 400, and solved it instantly by adjusting the trim to neutral, disconnecting the helicopter battery and reconnecting it.

I recommend you use the airplane setup for the mCX and then binding is dead simple.

Hope this solves your problem.
