Glue for Msr?

Today I got a MSR but i broke the landing gear. I am wondering what glue to use to fix it. Thanks!

Nate,

You might try some CA, (superglue), but the most durable repair will probably be to replace the landing gear.

The CA might work for a while, until you can get a new part.

Have fun!

I have tried using super glue but it doesn't bond to the plastic (or is it carbon fiber?) thanks anyways!

If Iremember correctly, the landing gear is not much more then a bottle of Zap-a-Gap (CA Glue). I have not had to buy a replacement set yet, but im sure Iwill soon, as my cat thinks my MSR is her personal chase toy :)

I tried that to...... It ain't working to well for me either. Mine broke at the mount in the front and if this does not work, I am going to have to buy a new frame which sux.

try using a piece of small wire insulation for reinforcement. I stripped about 3/8ths of an inch off some 18g multistrand wire and slid it over my strut and put a dab of superglue in the hole and stuck in the other part of the strut. Spray a little kicker on it if it won't set up. Good luck.

I use Zap for everything Rc Related.

I also really like shoe goo..

Regular Super Glue won't hold and if it does it will crack and break right away.

I bought and mSR a few days ago and broke the landing skid yesterday, right where the front left upright bar meets the top part with the battery holder.  There's less than 1mm between it in and the servo gear so there's no easy way to add extra material.

gap-filling CA did nothing.

5-minute epoxy did nothing.

Hot glue gun looked like it worked but failed almost instantly.

Using a hot  knife to try to melt and weld the plastic lasted maybe 1/2 dozen flights.

I'd just go buy two more but the hobby shop is closed for 4th of July :(

I might try the weld fix again.  I read on another forrum that someone stiffened their gear by wrapping it with thing sewing thread and hitting that with thin CA.  I might try that in addition to the weld fix.  The weld fix failed because it was too flexible and kept bending in the weakened spot.

The stock landing gear stinks. Get this landing gear imo http://www.helidirect.com/microheli-...sr-p-20102.hdx.

Is that carbon gear completely durable?  I'm sure the skids are but what about here the legs attach to the battery holder?  That's what fails.

I snapped the stock landing gear in first 3 flights just from landing, then i bought the cf landing gear i linked above and have not had any issue with the gear it is 100X more durable then the stock...... btw this origianl topic is more then 18 months old lol i realized that after i posted my original post about the landing gear.

I broke my landing gear on my first Outdoor flight!! i was thinking of repairing but i went to the hobby shop and foung they are only $4.89, so for me that was a better fix just to replace the cheap part.</p>
