MCX Outer shaft main gear question

Can someone tell me how the outer shaft main gear is attached to the outer shaft? Is this a press fit? I have noticed that my outer shaft main gear slightly wobbles on its shaft. I have removed the inner shaft and inner shaft main gear and reinstalled. I know the IS is secured by the collar with two screws, but cannot see how the outer shaft gear is secured, if at all. Thanks!
<! / message > <! edit note >

RE: MCX Outer shaft main gear question

Hmmm, no replies so I'll give it a shot.

If you download the pdf manual for the MCX at Horizon Hobby, you will be able to zoom in on the exploded view drawing. You will notice that the outer shaft is secured by the upper shaft locking collar just below the swash plate. Also, you can see the drawing of the outer shaft shows what appears to be a flat surface milled onto the end of the shaft that plugs into the gear. The gear center also shows the same flat surface, and there is no illustration showing any screws that secure the gear to the shaft. Therefore, I would assume the shaft is press fit into the gear.

Hope this helps.

RE: MCX Outer shaft main gear question

Thanks Dr S...a press fit it is, as I found out when I took the inner shaft and gear out and did a little prying on the gear...the gear has a plastic "D" shape at the bottom which keys into the shaft. The lower gear sort of holds it in place, except I wanted a little play between the gears which means that the upper gear really has to hang onto the shaft by itself.
