servos
Question for all? How is the best way to set servo? to be in middle? I rebuilt the ones on my BladeCP+.And now can't seem to get them back in middle. Now my swash plate is not level. And what would be another good brand to replace the ones I have now with? Thanks Matt</p> |
RE: servos
If I am understanding your question correctly, the answer would be that the servo arm needs to be at a right angle or 90 degrees from the pushrod to work correctley, in most applications.
This is because if it is not, you will have more travel in one direction than the other. Most servo arms that have several horns on them are made for that last bit of fine tuning. Each of the arms is a bit off of center, allowing you to choose the best fitting one. Ive never rebuilt a servo myself, I ususally just get new ones. You should have been able to have it end up nearly the same as where it was before. Possibly you just have something back together one spline or gear mesh off? As for the best brand, thats highly debatable, ask ten people and you'll probably get eleven answers. Me, I ususaly stick with a well known brand, like JR, Hightec or Futaba. Some of the new ones on the scene like Spektrum have some good values too. I'd stay away from unknown knock-offs but I'm sure some folks have had ok luck with them. Hope this helps. |
RE: servos
thanks I got it figured out.I was trying to adjust then with the arms and went wrong way and had almost all -pitch in it.Switched things around and works fine now.Still waiting on the SR to ship and saving for a 400 size helicopter. Any suggestions ? I know alot would say a Trex but I don't want to drop a ton of money in one.Ive been looking at a Dx7 for a radio and my LHS has one for like 225.00. Thanks again for help.

RE: servos
Glad to hear you got it worked out.
I was thinking about a blade or axe 400. I asked at the LHS and the guy said he'd sell me anything I wanted but the Trex would be a far better machine. Once you've flown one you wouldnt want the others. I just bought a used thunder tiger mini-titan and hope I made the right choice. TT has had a good reputation with their raptor series but I know its not a trex! You can read about lots of clones here too. I've also read lots of not so nice stories about them, like cut rate hardware, stripped screws and parts easily broken. Truth be told, you just cant get something for nothing!! |
