Hi!! New MSR-addict :-)

Hieverybody!!!
One more tottaly addict, this time from portugal. I've bought this heli one week ago, and i'm simply amazed by this toy. It's one of the funniest toys i ever had, and i love fast toys that fly (kitesurfer, kitemountainboarder, rev kite flyer, some months of flying with gas trainerplanes a long ago...).
But this little heli is so so fun, and fast. Oh...and agile to 8-)..........that's what is in tha box right??? lol
Well that is so true, and plus, it's very stable. glad i did bought this one for first heli, and not some coaxial that would get me bored quite fast, i guess...
I'm tottaly blasted with the levels of fun that 28gr of plastic with some micro-engines and top of the art electronics can give!!
The only downside of this heli, for now, is the fragile landing gear, that snapped after 15 flights... I´ve searched on the web for a solution fot this, do correct this problem, and not having to spend some money each time it breaks, and that happens a lot...
As i've always liked to work with wood, and i have a dremel that i use a lot, i made a woody chassis that has been epoxyed do the frame. that work took about two hours to do, with tools. i guess that without the dremel, i couldn't do it. for the acoplation pins, i've used some nice darts tips, made in strong nylon, not cheap plastic.
the piece off wood will be quite light, and adding the grams of epoxy, i dont find it slower or anything, flyes just perfect.
I recomend this mod for anyone how likes manual works and has some patience.
I've made a lot of flights after the mod, and it reacts perfectly in the ground and with a lot of hard landings...
Well, time for one more fly... ;-)

welcome to the forum

let's see some pics of your mod. my landing gear is broke to, i've just been flying it that way. i would like to fix it and not spend any money on it. i don't fly it much any more, i moved on to bigger heli's. but i would still like to fix it, for when friends come over

When I broke the landing gear I used a CA glue you get in South Africa. It comes with a black ..... maybe graphite powder. Jou put a drop on the place you want to mend and dust some of the powder over it. It thickens the repair area (joint) a bit but will never break there again. Works very well.

I will post the pics on your website! (asap)
Now i'm waiting for a tail replacement, cause the tail engine popped out. I'm going to epoxy the cap on the new one, and protect it with some dampening material, to protect the engine from those nasty tail impacts...

RE: Hi!! New MSR-addict :-)

i had the same thing happen, i was able to put the cap back on withoutdamaging the brushes. i found a great trick for preventing the cap frompopping off and it doesnt really effect the tail weight or appearance.get a piece of heat shrink tubing just larger than the tail motor. thencut it so that you can slide it over the motor leaving about 1/8th onan inch sticking out over the cap. shrink it in place making sure theexcess shinks down around the cap, i havent had an issue with itpopping out since
