Myself and many others that I know have flown the Power 32 on 12x10 almost exclusively and have never had any problems. Most motors are purposely under-rated to reduce warranty claims, IMO. One you wear down the 1st 10% of the battery those numbers will go down and when you are in the air the motor makes less watts/amps as well. Static tests with a fresh battery will show higher than 'real' numbers.

Thanks for the info. I had not thought about the fresh battery making a difference. Next time out I will put the 12x10 on - Ican't wait!

I notice some low Kv motors being used, what do you think of a Turnigy Aerodrive SK 35-48 1100Kv motor with Rhino 4s 3700mAh 25c (420-440 grams)? The batteries feel like bricks to me, I have never put together a plane this big.

The lower the Kv the larger the prop you can spin without burning the motor up. Higher Kv wants to turn faster on the same voltage. But just because it wants to doesnt mean it should, depending on prop size.

Stick with anything in the same spec range as the Power 32 and you'll be very satisfied...

Haven't had any problems with mine and I've had it for a year and a half with around 125 flights on it. It's very durable, handles wind well, and is a good flyer. It tends to land a little hotter than I'd expect but it's nothing real out of control. I added flaperon to mine to help slow it down for landing and it seems to help a little bit.

All basic aerobatics are possible. Point rolls take care to get them semi-precise. Mine really doesn't knife edge worth a damn but I have the lower power motor and live at high altitude (5000 ft) Surprisingly, my plane does inverted flat spins nearly as well as a 3D plane. You can also prop this baby up to make it really fast which is how I like 'em.

All in all it's a fast, durable, fun aerobatic plane that can take a beating. The ARF is designed well and goes together without a hitch. It's a good size and a good color scheme, very visible. It is just an average sport plane, though, so don't expect it to be as precise as a pattern plane or insane as a 3D plane and you'll like it.

How hard is to make a convertion to glow? I love the Pulse I have 40 a mini and I like the 25 size very much and thinking to put a 32 or a 40 , share your coments....

Nah.. Put an E-Flite Power 32, a big fat 4 cell and a 12x10 prop in there and let her rip!

I have a Diamante 25e , it had been sitting in the LHS long enough for the price sticker to fall off and quite a bit of dust. This plane is AMAZING , my maiden flight the only trimming I had to do was 1 click up elevator and the High speed Low passes had begun ! I am using the P32 also with the 13x6.5E does that 12x10 make much difference ?

Absolutely! If you are looking for speed then prop down and pitch up (shorter prop and higher pitch.) The higher pitch props cut into more air, pulling the plane faster. Prop length = thrust, prop pitch = speed. Thrust is good for 3d. Put aa 12X10 on her and let it rip!!!!

folks this looks to be a good plane for me but was wounder how well the landing gear hold up, my landings need work and i dont want to end up hand launching this plane.

What prop seams to offer the best performance with the Power 25 motor? I happen to have a Power 25 sitting around. I like speed but want the aerobatics as well.

I ran a Turnigy motor that was about equivalent to a power 25 on 3S ( I think it was a 35-48-1100) with a 12x10...great speed and decent vertical but not unlimited. I enjoyed it a lot and I'm at 5000 feet above sea level.

I had also run my old Pulse with a 12x8 on 3S but didn't like it as much. For my altitude, the 12x10 was the ticket.

I'm going to be getting another Pulse that will be going on floats. The plan with that one is to run the same motor on 4S with a 12x6 prop. A friend of mine is running his with this setup (and his Diamante as well) and they fly very nicely with power to spare.

I've had this one about a month, and fly mostly off the water. I'm using a Rimfire 32, Flightpower 60 ESC, and 3300 4S packs. She turns a 12x5 APC sport prop at 9700 RPM, good for about 45 mph and close to 6 pounds of static thrust, pulling about 45A. On wheels, she weighs four pounds, on floats, five. The floats are Flybaby from old RCM plans, scaled down to 75%. I went that way instead of the glass ones offered by Horizon because the stated weight was way too much for this bird- two pounds.

This is a non "3 point landing" airplane, on land or sea. She likes to approach level and touchdown level. Any other method usually results in a stall and a bounce. That's the only characteristic that took some getting used to. The vertical, land or sea, is unlimited on a fresh pack.

I really like it, and have been flying it more than anything else the last couple weeks as winter's moving in here and an electric seaplane is just great under those conditions. (I live about two miles from a good lake.) I also have the Pulse 60 on standard size Flybaby floats, and she's just as much fun.

greetings mustang fever! just ordered a pulse xt 25e today. there is a lake about 10 minutes from me and plan to try floats next spring i have a.25 rimfire on the shelf and 45 amp esc, 3200 11.1v li-po hope thats enough power for floats. curious is that a sub rudder on your pulse or mybe my eyes are bad

The Rimfire 25 will work great in the Pulse. I had one in another airplane and this combination was lots of fun: 10x5 MAS 3 blade, 4S 3300 pack. Used 38A and developed over 5 pounds of thrust at 60 mph. Flight times (with throttle management) of well over 10 minutes.

Pics of the water rudder/subfin attached. Much lighter and more effective than a rudder on the float stern.

hey from auggiedog again! the subfin/rudder looks like an easier approach than the float rudder. i'm guessing its made from lite ply and/or aluminum. good idea i may try that myself!

I used 1/8 lite ply for the base (where it bolts on) and 1/8 balsa for all the rest. Ordinary CA hinges for the rudder. Made the rudder just long enough so that about 1/2" or so is in the water at rest.

Here's a pic of the floats under construction. They are very simple, and the cost and weight is less than half that of the Eflite floats.

hi mustang, i recieved the pulse xt 25e last week the right wing aileron hinge ( the second one out from inboard or the hinge closest to control horn is severed!) do you know of any kwik fixes other than removing the whole aileron reslotting then rehinging whew! i thought about using thin clear packaging tape on both sides of the hinge line. any other ideas would be appreciated!

hello mustang fever , the clear packing tape works great so far ! i'm a ammo reloader and use old unloaded bullets for balancig weights. it took 6 225grain 45 cal. bullets behind the firewall to balance it slightly nose heavy!!!!!!wow!!!! don't understand why . took it out and flew it last night twice!! it flys nice and smooth . landing approaches were suprisingly short and smooth, hence the slightly nose heavy. i use max throws then add expo around 60% to keep things interesting. i may upgrade to a .35 rimfire motor later on. stall turns were mushy . i may work the cg a little. overall for the first two flights , its anice flying plane,!!!!!. i need to get my recently finished top flight 1/7 scale gold edition mustang maidened be fore winter maybe!! i have never flown a scale warbird before. i put a saito 1.20 in the nose so it should have plenty of power!! but my budget only allowed for me to use the included mechanical retracts. any tips or tricks you could give me would be appriciated. thanks auggiedog

I have the 1/7 TF Mustang ARF. I used a OS 95AX in it, and it has all kinds of power. I replaced the factory retracts with Robart HD 85 degree mechanicals.

Give it as much flap travel as you can for landings. Mine are close to 2", and this causes the nose to actually drop a little when extended, which is what full size airplanes do. Makes it much easier to land.

Put 2.4 oz of lead in the right wing tip (countertorque weighting, an old modeler trick) This tames the vicious left roll that all Mustangs have upon power up.

Balance it at the aft recommended CG limit.

Give it maybe 1/8 down elevator trim initial. (They all need this.)

Be ready with right rudder on takeoff to keep it straight, but if you use the countertorque weighting then takeoff will be uneventful. Just come up on the throttle progressively, give it time to get the tail up and accelerate on the ground and don't try to take off until it obviously wants to. Full throttle is NEVER needed for takeoff with this bird, and is not a good idea. Easy and gentle.

Be careful to make landing approaches in a level attitude, and do not try for three point landings- keep the speed up and let it settle onto the mains.

thanks mustang, i didn't leave much gap on my flap hinge line, thus they only drop about 20-30% i thought that might turn out to bite me!!![:@] thanks for all the tips. i would'nt have known of those ideas.

Does anyone know if you can get a clear canopy for the XT25e?  Or maybe one from a different model that fits?
