Default Banana Hobby

I have read mixed reviews about BANANAHOBBIES.

Please let me know if you have ever purchased anything from that website and what you thought about the products.

In my opinion, without having purchased anything from them, they seem to have a very large variety of planes in various sizes all of which look to be very detail oriented.

Anyway, please let me know if the company and planes are any good. If you think they suck then please suggest companies that have a large variety of planes that are quality.

Thanks in advance.

I can suggest the selection at Tower Hobbies, Horizon Hobbies, Hobby-Lobby and Hobby People.

I have had good luck with AK Hobbies and Cermark, too.

Best wishes,

Yeah places like that are better if you buy only for an airframe. Toss the included stuff, install quality components. DO NOT expect any customer service.
That's what I do when I buy from places like that.

You know the old adage "You get what you paid for" Yep you'll pay a higher price at Horizon/Tower/Hobby Lobby, but someone will answer the phone, speak English, and most of the time take care of your problem, or tell you what to do to correct it.

I'm going to stay general - for what it's worth, I've bought quite a few inexpensive planes. And I don' t do that anymore. To me, I value better quality when I spend my time flying field. And Ireally appreciate improved flying precision. I don't mind paying for that.

I don't want to condemn them. There is a place for inexpensive models for some people.. I personally learned to resist the temptation after realizing where the value is at (it's a paradox, but I think a relatively expensive 3DHS plane has better value than a half priced CMP).

Recently I almost bought the Hobbyking MXZ or MXS - that cool looking green one. I was zapped right back to reality after reading the comments.

I hope that helps you make the right decision based on what's important to you.
