Evening all,
I'm sure it's been asked before but what electric motor from Hobby King would be more or less equivalent to a Rimfire 1.20? I'm thinking very hard about purchasing a GP Sequence 1.20 combo from Tower but would like to have a few spare parts available for the learning curve that is sure to follow. For budget reasons I was considering buying an HK esc and motor as backups. I know which esc I want but just don't know which motor to go with. And yeah I know the stories about HK and have a few of my own but for the price difference I'll risk it. I've had some good luck with their EF-1 setups so I'll take a shot. Anyone knowledgable who can offer some guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have had nothing but excellent results from Hobby King when ordering from their USA warehouses. I have a couple of their Turnigy G series " Easy Match " motors, and they are serving me great. Give a look at their 1.20 drop-in replacement for a glow engine.

Thanks Ed I spent a good hour going through their web site. If I order from them again I think it will have to be via a US warehouse or not at all. Last overseas order was 75 days. I have a low time (2 flights) Evolution that has a YS in it now that I don't care for. It came with an electric mount and I've thought about converting it to electric if it can be cost effective and can perform well through Intermediate. This would provide the cost solution. I've not flown electric of any size though so it's a great big learning curve heading my way :-)
