Default E-flite Maule M-7 wing spar/tube issue

Just received the E-flite Maule M-7 1.5m BNF as a gift. While assembling, I ran into an issue with the wing spar/tube fuselage pass thru. Basically, the pass thru hole in the fuselage is too small for the tube to fit through. Initially, I thought that maybe the tube included was too large in diameter, however, it fits very nicely in the holes in both wing panels. I'm not about to try to ream out the hole in the fuselage of a $300 kit that is supposed to go together quickly. Anyone else experience this?

An aside, multiple other issues with instructions as well. One in particular is lack of instruction for a fastener thru horizontal stabilizer into fuselage in "Tail Installation" section. No mention of this in instruction, but the model clearly has provisions for this. Instructions show two fasteners going through forward end of vertical stab (top down) and one going through fuselage into bottom of vertical stab (bottom up).

Another angle of tube next to fuselage pass thru hole.

Tube fit into left wing panel.
