Default Setting up a giro from other plane

So I finally learned to fly rc planes by scratching building out of foam. One of the nice thing about foam planes is when you crash you can usually use the electronics for another plane. Well I've been flying a RMRC Recruit for a while not. I've beat the hell out of it and the air frame is ready for the trash. I bought a replacement airframe and swapped over the gyro and receiver. The motor and servos were included with the new plane. So I connect everything up but I am wondering how do I ensure the gyro is working correctly. With the plane in my hand and powered on I initialize the gyro. Now when I tilt the plane to the left (left wing down) the aileron goes up. Same thing happens on the right side. But when I tip the nose up the elevators go up too. If I tip the nose down the elevators go down. Is this correct. It seems backward to me. All control surfaces are working fine with stick input. It's the gyro I am not sure about. Don't want to maiden and dive into the ground.

Yours is backwards, All the way backwards. When you tilt the plane the control surfaces should counteract that tilt, not enhance it.

That is what I thought. So how do I fix it? Flip it over or rotate it 180?

I think I got it. I just rotated it 180 degrees. It seems to be working but I still need to maiden the plane.
