protecting the receiver from vibration
Hello all
In small electric planes, do you guys usually wrap your receiver and battery in a foam to protect them from vibrations?
I’m building my first electric and not sure if this is necessary or not. I know we did that in glow engine planes because of the vibration from the engine, but not sure if this is necessary in electric plane?
Thanks
Borna

RE: protecting the receiver from vibration
For me it depends on the plane. For foamies I don't wrap the receiver in foam. For bigger "stick" models I use a small foam piece - Don't want to much weight added.

RE: protecting the receiver from vibration
Electric does not have the same level of vibration associated with ic motors so wrapping them if foam is not necessary. It is the same reason that electric planes are lighter, they do have to be beefed up to handle the vibration.
