a complete electric noob, motor size question
what size motor would you guys suggest for a guillow's 20" ws piper cherokee that i am kit building right now.. also what battery will keep that plane in the air for 5+ min. at a time while also remaining low in weight? what esc should i get (lightweight)
the box calls for an .020 engine, i will be flying dx-7 with the ar6100 parkflyer rx (3.5grams) and 2 micro servos (rudder, elevator)which i already have.. i would like to keep this relatively cheap but i guess i will also need a charger, i want a wall charger that will last me for a long time that will charge nicd nimh lipo and i want to be able to select how many mah i will charge at.. i looked at a hyperion that i liked but now can't remember where i saw it, how i got there, nothing.. i understand the charger i requested here is going to be pricey but i would like to keep the charger under 150$ and the motor, esc, and battery under 35$ is this unrealistic?
i have been flying .40 sized planes only, so this will be my first 1/2a plane, and my first electric.. although i have played with a couple of electric foam planes, they have all been vector thrust and rtf so no experience gained.. this will be my first esc controlled electric plane.. any help will be greatly appreciated, i promise to learn fast and share any knowledge i can in the future!
