I got it home and on the volt meter it was 11.4 .. I charged it up with a balance er and got 12.56
I am usto seeing 12.65 on the t rex 450 batteries

RE: 11.1 lipo

I will try again

I got a new airplane and its a multiplex mentor

The hobby shop that i got the plane from had an old lipo battery in stock

The battery is brand new .. it was just sitting on the shelf for a long time ...

Me not being to familiar with too many lipo batteries wanted to know what you thought about the old lipo..

so i got the battery home and hoked it to a volt meter and it was about 11.4 volts

after the charge it was 12.56. I remember that when my t rex 450 heli 11.1 batteries were charged they were 12.65 on the volt meter

So the numbers are close but i just thought some one might have seen this before

thanks all..

12.6 is generally accepted as the "full" mark , but 12.56 is not quite and 12.65 is a bit over. I think the pack should be tested to see if it is ok.

How do you test..

Many of us use a CBA tester. You could also throw it in a car or truck too.

Try cycling the battery. Many Lipos I've had have come back from the dead that way.
Have you balanced the battery? That will also help bring up the voltage as each cell get charged to 12.60 instead of the overall voltage. A lot also depends on the charger and how it works.

Now I see what what you are saying.

Does not sound to bad. As said all ready, do a few cycles with it. Do you have a charger that will do dis-charge and charge cycles?

I love RCU. I had a question similar to this but after checking a few threads I found the info I was looking for.....except what is the low voltage reading a batteryshould haveafter a flight. I charge to 12.6 V and fly for about 12 minutes. I have a 3S 1800mah 11.1V. When I charge the Lipo again I am usually in the area of 11.35 to 11.4 per cell. Is this about right or can I get a few more minutes flight time out of this battery?

RE: 11.1 lipo

11.4 is fine. If you have a charger that logs how much it puts back in you want to put no more than 80 percent of the capacity back in. 2000mah pack you wouldn't want to find yourself putting more than 1800mah back.
