Remove retaining collar on motor shaft ?
 

I am mounting the Rimfire 80 Motor with the shaft pointing toward the fuselage bulkhead . There is a collar on the motor shaft. Is that a safety collar ? Is it safe to remove it or maybe its better to drill a larger hole on the motor mounting plate of the motor box to clear the collar? Tks

I wouldn't take the collar off. It's there to securely retain the rotor assembly. It shouldn't be difficult to provide necessary clearance for the shaft and/or collar.
