difference between a 30C lioi and a 50C lipo

I have been using a 3 cell 30C 2200 mah battery for a while so I just got a great deal on the same rating battery only its C rating is 50 instead of 30 C so what will be the difference in flying and charging my new 50C battery 3S 2200mah battery?

There will be no difference in charging, it is still a 3s 2200 pack.
Will it affect flying? Well, the pack will be larger and heavier than the 30C so it might make the plane fly/handle differently. It won't make it fly faster.

If you are running a high performance motor/esc/prop set-up that demands ...say 70 amps then the 50C pack will be a better fit because it can deliver up to 110 amps while the 30C pack will struggle to deliver 70amps.
If it's just a parkflyer drawing 30 amps or so then there is no issue other than dragging around extra battery weight.

if your original setup was poor and your battery was the limiting factor of the system, you may make smoke with the new one... seen that many times...

Thank you for your informative reply.

my set up very solid drawing aprox 35 amps

No advantage to run the 50C pack then,in fact it may make it fly worse due to carrying around the extra weight.

It's the continuous discharge rate the battery can handle: 30C x 5000mAh (5Ah) = 150A discharge rate. So for the same 5000mAh battery, a 50C battery is rated at 250A discharge rate (see your ESC specifications to see the amp rating it is designed to handle).

I think you will also find that the internal resistance of the 50C will be a bit lower than the 30C.

As long as C-rating does not come with number of battery lifecycles, manufacturers/shops can ... eehhrm ... 'phantasize' all they want. Some 'phantasize' less then others.
