Is there and E-powered "Fun Fly"?

My highly modified Zagi 400X got stolen from my garage (http://www.devino.org/mark/airplanepics/zagi.jpg). It was outfitted with glowwire lighting for night flights and it was a hoot. But I have bored of the flying wing e-airplanes and now want something different.

I really want one good airplane for fun-fly type flight. I want a plane that can be powered by by speed 400 motors, have decent flight time, and do loops and rools and ALSO do rudder based manuevers. If it could hover that would be awesome.

I have seen planes like the GP Fundango and they look pretty cool. I dont believe that one has ailerons? I guess my ideal plane would have a fun fly wing with thick airfoil and constant chord, ailerons, maybe a carbon fiber fuselage boom and standard elevator/rudder control. Anyway, recommendations MUCH MUCH appreciated. Thanks!

You better believe it:

http://www.gwmp.net/e3d/default.htm

It isn't powered by a speed 400 but the car motors it uses are only moderately more expensive.

I don't have one but have heard good things about it locally.

Good luck,

kevin

Yes on the "E3D"

I have one . love it. My "Slimer" buddies wonder if I have dropped off the planet. I now fly at the huge park next to my house every day after work.
You won't regret going with it.

Laser mini 3D ? There's a review here : http://www.ezonemag.com/articles/200...inilaser.shtml

It's actually a Speed 300. There are plenty of S400 designs around too , plans , kits or ARTFs. How much building do you want to do ?

I don't mind building it. The E3D looks pretty cool. The other plane that was bought to my attantion was the Katana or CAP from www.radicalrc.com . They're foamies for sure, and alot smaller than the E3D, but they DO look cool and are supposed to be awesome performers.

There is no building at all with those, just assembly. Do these foamies fly good or am I better off building a balsa plane and covering it?

FYI the fundango does have ailerons, but does NOT have rudder control. I would imagine it would be easy to modify for full-house control. I actually have one of these half built but haven't got around to finishing it. It doesn't have a very thick wing for a funfly plane, and i've heard that they fly a little faster than one would expect.

The fundango is actually a nice airplane in search of a good powerplant. I had one I experimented with for quite a while. Ditch the idea of flying it on the sp400 with gearbox as they suggest. The best combo I used was a speed 300, geared 5 to 1, with an 8X6 APC "E" prop, on 8 cells. 9X6 works also, but the current was a bit high for my tastes

I just used my E3D to earn second place at a large out of town funfly. I was the "only" electric plane there. Most guys were flying pod and boom or similar dedicated funfly ships.

Gary has designed a very good flying plane. Try it you won't be disappointed.

I have a laser 3D artf on 7x600 cells and it totally aerobatic and will just about hover if conditions are right with flight times over 5 mins using throttle its just about as good as ive seen to date
cheers

Cheech;

The Katana and Cap foamies are from vertical rc. Don't waste your money. Radical RC sells the Edge 540, it'll outfly the VRC stuff 6 ways to Sunday.

Although I don't have one yet, by all means get the E3D! A friend has one and it is awesome.

Knowing Gary somewhat anything he builds will be a solid product period. I'm looking at buying one as well. :)
