A-10 help

Hey guys I am trying my hand at this electric thing. I have built a bunch of glow and gas powered stuff but no electric stuff. I have the GWS A-10 all built and 95% set up. I am having trouble getting the motors to run. All of the other servos work fine but the motors will not come on when I hit the throttle. I have plugged the battery in directly to the motors and they work fine. I am looking at the GWS speed control and I have everything plugged up right (it really wont allow you to plug anything in wrong). Someone told me that sometimes there is a sequence to turning on these electrics. If that is so how about you guys filling me in on this one ;)

RE: A-10 help

Try putting the throttle in the minimum position for 5 seconds.

Try reversing the throttle channel if you have a Futaba.

On GWS Speed controls, there really isn't much of an arming sequence. The throttle needs to be at idle for a second or two after you first plug it in.

Being an infamous Profile Brother, you probably have a fancy computer radio too. Try increasing the ATV to 125% in both directions on the throttle if the reversing doesn't work.

I tried what fiasco said and it worked!! Who would have ever thought you would have had to wait :D

Matt,

Of course I have a fancy computer radio :D . But this A-10 belongs to someone else. I am building it for my Uncle but I get to fly it until he comes back down to pick it up. I built it b/c I wanted to see what this electric stuff was all about. I like it enough that I think I am going to order a hacker motor and some Lithum packs within the next few weeks to go on a foamy factory 3D plane.

One more question for you guys. The battery pack is a 8.4 Volt Ni-Mh 730 mAh pack. I charged it on this wattage charger for park fliers at the right mAh until it started blinking (like 20 min maybe). I plugged it into the plane to see how long it would last and within about 5 sec. I could hear the motors loosing power. And within 35 sec. it had stopped all together. I kept playing with it until I ran all the juice out of the pack and now I have it charging again. Is there something I should be doing to get more flight time out of this pack b/c it will never take off like this.
