9CAP - 9 channel airplane PCM modulated
9CHP - airplane-> helicopter

Close

9CAF = Airplane FM
9CHF = Helicoptor FM
9CAP = Airplane PCM (it is still FM, just a different type of signal)
9CHP = Helicoptor PCM

There is no 9CAF or 9CHF transmitter, these are just names of RX/TX packages. All of the 9C transmitters are either 9CHP or 9CAP transmitters, as they are all capable of PPM (commonly just called "FM" ) or PCM (another form of FM). The 9CAF and 9CHF RX/TX packages come with either a 9CAP or 9CHP transmitter, and a PPM receiver. The 9CAP and 9CHP RX/TX packages come with the corresponding radio and a PCM receiver.

The real question is: Is knowing what all the little letters and numbers mean really important? IMHO, no. It's just marketing. It doesn't tell you what the radio is capable of, or what the radio packages come with. The real skinny on the radio can easily by found by reading its specifications at www.futaba-rc.com, or any of the online sites that sell the radio.

The only differences between the 9CA and 9CH are some switch locations and the ratchet pawl on the throttle. Otherwise, the radios have identical capabilities.
