Help! Electric Conversion for Buzzard Bombshell

I need help. I am building an old kit of a mini- Buzzard Bombshell, a classic pre-war free flight design. I want to convert it to RC assist with electric power. I have never done anythign electric, havign just returned to the hobby after 25 years absence, so I know very little about electric. Can anyone recommend a power, prop, battery, and speed control set up for this plane that is very light. Here are the specs: 30" wingspan, 150 sq in wing area, weight: 4-6 oz (note: this is the weight that it was targeted at as a free flight plane- I assume, that with radio, its going to end up heavier, maybe around 8 to 10 oz?) I don't think it necessarily needs a brushless motor as it doesn't really need to have screaming performance, just a decent climb and a 8 to 12 minute duration on the motor run. I will primarily use it as a park flyer that I get to altitutde and then try to thermal. What little I know suggests that LiPo batteries will be lightest, but can you use LiPo with regular can type motors?

Also If anyone can recommend a decent VERY small radio set up for this, that would be great.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.
