HELP Anyone, Questions from a Beginner
I have been flying R/C for a long time. But, due to my non-interest in charging batteries over and over I have never flown electric aircraft.
But now due to the advances in technologies, there is an electric aircraft that I would like to purchase and fly it is the Vector Pro Electric Ducted Fan. Flying this type of aircraft is no problem for me, It's the charging and electronics I have questions about. Is it common for a motor and ESC to cost in the 700.00 range? What knid of charger will I need? How many battery packs will I need to start with? Is there anyone out there flying the Vector Pro? Links to the aircraft are provided below: http://www.shredair.com/vector.html http://www.schuebeler-jets.de/ Thank in advance Ray Grauberger |

No, it is not common for the components to cost that much but you are looking at high quality handmade gear. So in this realm, yes it is going to cost an arm and a leg. I generally use three batteries, on flying, one charging, and one cooling. With some planes that I fly a lot, I use 4. Get a good charger, the Triton is a nice reasonably prices charger that can easily handle these batteries or a Diamond Supersmart. There are also excellent European chargers out there if you want to spend the extra money.
Looks like one fantastic plane! Good luck with it! Don |
