EF 480 Flight Time
I flew my Mini FuntanaX this weekend for the first time. It has an EF 480, an EF 40A ESC and 2100 TP batteries.
While the airplane flew very well the flight times were very short. I used three different packs and after about 6 minutes the ESC started to shut down the motors, forcing a landing. I have a 12x6 prop on it and was wondering if that is is too much prop and is shortening the flying time so much. Or is it the EF ESC. I have a mini stick with an EF 450 and a Phoenix 35 ESC and get nearly 15 minutes on the same battery. Any thoughts or experience? |
RE: EF 480 Flight Time
I have the Park 480 on my Mini Pulse, and with a 11x7 slowfly I was getting 10 minutes, then the ESC was shutting it down. So with the 12x6 I would assume you would be around 8-9 minutes or so. But 3D is a different application than the Mini Pulse. And the Funtana X is just a little heavier. Those two differences may be playing a role.
I switched to a 10x7 Slowfly and now I am getting 12-14 minutes depending on how hard I push it of course. Maybe try coming down to an 11x6 and see what happens. |

Thanks,
I will try that. |
