Help needed for line of servo's

1 Attachment(s)
I have brought in samples of the following servo's and have flown a 3M glider with the 3.6g and my Mini Funtana with the 8g. The quality looks fairly good (Better than expected!), but before I launch the line in, I need some expert feedback from members regarding the pricing. From homework I have done, I THINK the pricing looks good for direct sales, but I would like members to be the judges. Please click on the images to enlarge so you can read the specs.

Thank in advance. Your reply wil be greatly appreciated!

Well, the prices look pretty good. However, you really should fix the torque spec on the red servo because 1.5 g.cm is not correct (kg.cm) and it would probably help your sales if you provided the equivalent specs in imperial units, as many of your buyers are unwilling to do their own math. :)

You are correct, it is in kg on all, my type-o.

Prices are great. What's warranty period? E-flite warrants for one year (I just got a replacement for one of my S75 servos).
What comes with each unit (servos arms, mounting harware, etc.?). Showing what each servo serves as direct replacement for might help some buyers (i.e. HS 55, HS81, S75, etc., etc)

Hope this is feedback your are looking for.

Good feedback so far. Servos will include arms, screw and extra main gear.

I can't judge them in metric units. I find it interesting that you would use the 3.6 gram servo in a 3M glider. May I ask what surfaces were controlled by such a small servo and what plane they were in? Was this an e-glider, slope glider or a thermal glider. I might use that servo in a hand launched glider but not in a 3M glider. Even if it has enough torque to move the surfaces, I would be concerned about the ability of the gears to take the stress.

Interested in your application.

can't remember the name, but it's very lightweight glider. The 3.6 seems to work well, as my flying is fairly gentle. I did not fly with hard turns, etc. which may warrant the higher gramm weight unit. If I can find my digital camera, I'll post a pic or two!

We decided to start with two servo's in November, the 3.6g and the 8g under the Performance Devices name of Skymaster or possible Air Master (Will entertain other names from the clever crowd here! :) ). Will follow-up in January with either a carbon or metal gear version of the same. Our game plan will probably be direct marketing to start. Packaging will be in a foam-padded clamshell for excellect protection. The servo's will include arm sets, screws, etc. Looks like we'll sell the 3.6g at $10.95 and the 8g (Hitec HS-55 compatible) at $7.95.

I did switch out the 3.6g I had in my glider to the 8g and that was a nice difference in performace (The 3.6 REALLY pushed the envelope!).

Any feedback would be appreciated on the above, including what expected warranty should be (Or what you would like to see Vs what any of the competion may not offer, extra gear sets inclusive, etc). When we launch these two products, we'll do an RCU banner and maybe run a special price deal.

Thanks in advance. Again we are NOT selling here, just looking for feedback from members. As with past products we have launched, we DO listen to beedback here and take everything into consideration because you guys are the ultimate pro's!

Thanks,
Pete

Post a P/N! BTW, getting the artwork (insert card for the clam shell packaging) on Wednesday, so we'll be selling at that time. Went to a 9g servo Vs 8g.
