battery run time

Is it possible to calculate the run time of a Lipo batery?
Example, Motor max continuos draw is 65 Amp at 22.2 volts.
Batery pack is a 6 cell 8000 mAh lipo.
how long would the motor run at the max continuos?

Please Help.

Thank you

RE: battery run time

If the battery would hold 3.7 volts (it won't and the motor rating may be off a bit too) then it will do 65 amps. I'm getting about 7 minutes to use up 8000 mah. That's a little more than a guess.

RE: battery run time

Formula for Run Time

run time in minutes = (Battery Capacity in Ah/Motor Current in A) x 60

For this example:
Battery Capacity is 8000 mAh = 8 Ah
Motor Current = 65A

Therefore:

run time in minutes = (8 Ah/65 A) x 60 = 7.38 minutes

This assumes that you run at full throttle and can drain the battery completely. In practice, before the battery is completely drained, the power will have decreased to the point that the plane will no longer stay in the air.
