Coupling Motor-Controller-Receiver

Hi all,

I've to select receiver and speed controller for the 480 motor of my P51D Mustang, but i've to ask your help about a few things:

1) I assume that the 480 motor is of the brushed type, i'm right?

2) then which kind of speed controller do i need?

3) may i use whatever 4 channel receiver or do i need to verfy compatibility between motor, esc and receiver?

Many thanks to you,

Giuseppe

Need more info on the "480" motor. If it is the E-flite 480 it's brushless which affects all the other answers.

I am sure you will need European frequencies in your RC gear. Not sure about using USA servos or ESC's.
When in Europe use Europe equipment.

Many thanks for your reply,

i've no info about the motor because it's factory-equipment for my ready-to-fly park-zone mustang, but given the price of the entire model (150 Euros), i assume that the motor is as cheaper as only a brush-type 480 motor should be...
About the frequency issue i understand that i've to go into european Mhz band, but do i need to comply with Ampere requirements or similar stuff for selecting a receiver and a speed controller?

Regards,

Giuseppe

@Giuseppe
As for RC frequencies and electric flight in Italy, you could ask http://www.baronerosso.net/forum/

You have some basic questions. Do you have you experience with other RC planes? If not, I seriously doubt if you should start your career with a P51.
